Toby Keith is a registered Democrat. Why get upset if someone disses him?

This is one reason I hate the Award Shows lately. These entertainers use the stage as a bully pulpit to diss our President.
And the minute I find which side of the fence an entertainer is on, that is when I decide if I want to continue supporting them. If they diss our President, then I will put them on my list to boycott them.
It's gotten way out of hand.

OK. Elle magazine. Liberal media. Dixie Chicks fan. Hollywood connections galore. What would you expect? And CMT, trying so hard to be fair and balanced. Believe me when I say that country music fans are decidedly pro-America and take this woman with a grain of salt. She just shot herself in the foot with those comments, IMO.

I'm with you. I don't know what the heck is going on w/ CMT. That show they had on a while back -- "50 of the Greatest Fashion Statements in Country Music" or something like that -- had me thinking "
What the...? What is this? The Style Channel or something?"
But then I remembered that the company that owns CMT also owns the Style Channel, E.,Travel Channel, Nick., MTV,VH1 and heaven only knows what else. So it's pretty much bye-bye Bob Wills and hello fashion editor from Elle.
(By the way, what was CMT's #1 romantic song?)

I'm a country music fan and I watch cmt, but I missed that comment. Yes, it was definitely insensitive of cmt to let that comment in. But remember, these channels are owned by the entertainment industry, and it's to their advantage to promote controversy.
For instance, I read "Country Weekly" and they're still pushing the "Toby vs. Natalie" controversy on their subscription page (p. 73), using an old cover with Toby and Natalie pics to solicit new subscribers. If the controversy didn't generate new income, they wouldn't be doing it.

Goodness, get a grip, maybe Roy Rogers' romantic song writing is better than Keith? How does Keith's political position affect his ranking as a romantic song writer?

I saw a photo of Audi Murphy in his uniform. Not one inch of cloth was visible on the front of it. The uniform was COVERED with medals. What a guy!

What's a writer for Elle magazine doing on CMT anyway? That just doesn't compute...
Hildy, you're a good ole FReeper. Save your energy and anger for something that really matters. ;-)

I was pro Toby until the awards show last month were at the end he decided to say "hey, lets all go get drunk" instead of something for the troops.
Yes Toby, I know you may feel supporting the troops is getting old, but they are still over there. A small mention was expected.

It's called Right Flight.....from academia, from the legal profession, from labor, from the Hollywood upper echelon, from the bureaucracy, etc. The Right gave it all to the Left without a fight, or so it seems.

Just switch off the TV, soon they will discover what the LA Times is discovering. When you can't reach the people any more, your ad revenue drops because advertisers want to use the most successful way of reaching......PEOPLE.
At my house, the only hope you have at reaching me is by advertising on FOXNews, if you don't, chances are I won't buy your stuff because I only see the stuff that is advertized on FOX.
