I've never seen the dims so desparate and so totaly unable to gain any traction.

I'm not so sure that's true... Look at President Bush's approval rating. Public perception on the economy (which is roaring), etc etc etc... They've brought him down to the upper 40s... Hopefully, they've hit rock-bottom.

"No credible evidence" that the 9/11 Commission is CREDIBLE, especially as long as Jamie Gorelick is on the wrong side of the panel. She SHOULD be testifying UNDER OATH! They can KMA!!!

It appears the commission took the word of two Bin-Laden Associates over Common Sense. Now I know what President Bush meant by terrorist at home.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Bluntly contradicting the Bush administration, the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks reported Wednesday there was "no credible evidence" that Saddam Hussein helped al-Qaida target the United States.

When has the Bush administration ever said that Iraq helped al-Qaeda target the United States? This is a lie within a lie. Bush officials have suggested that Hussein and al-Qaeda had a relationship, which has been proven by Iraqi documents and various intelligence sources, but never what is being suggested in the opening paragraph of this hit piece.

The Bush administration has long claimed links between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida, and cited them as one reason for last year's invasion of Iraq.

These people are truly insane! If the idiot who wrote this piece would care to read the Congressional authorization for the invasion of Iraq, she would see that there is no mention of Iraq and al-Qaeda working together to target the United States. Bush officials have suggested a link between the two, but its never been official policy.

Thanks. I just can't believe he's neck and neck with President Bush... Rasmussen has President Bush with a (slight) lead again today...

I find ignoring polls no matter what they say is very satisfying.

I highly reccommend it, they really don't tell us much anyway.

"Do you guys think this will be a big deal, or has the public already heard this ad nauseum, and will not really react? Any thoughts?"

Like any good magician, the liberal press is hoping that you don't see the slight of hand behind the trick.

What the Commission said was that they don't see credible evidence of Al-Qaeda and Iraq cooperating on the 9/11 attacks.

But the slight of hand here is that the *press* is now saying that there is no cooperation between Iraq and Al-Qaeda...at all.

It's clever. This is high quality propaganda. Why, the news media has this Congressional Commission's report! Of course there was no link between Iraq and Al-Qaeda, the press claims!

But that's not what the report said. The report only said "no credible proof of 9/11 cooperation..." not that there was no link between them at all. Al Qaeda leader Abu Nidal was in a Baghdad hospital from before 9/11 until almost the moment of our invasion of Iraq, after all. Al-Ansar operated inside Iraq's northernmost territories, for another. Iraqi agents may have even met with Mohamad Atta in Prague prior to the 9/11 attack, too...and Iraqi Intelligence agent Ramsi Yusef was *convicted* of blowing up the WTC back in 1993.

But that evidence now gets overlooked. The news media now has a Congressional Report, you know.

Subtle. Sneaky.

< Applause >

We might as well applaud such high quality propaganda. That's the way the masters of the craft do it.

Too bad that it's at our expense, though.

Al Qaeda leader Abu Nidal was in a Baghdad hospital from before 9/11 until almost the moment of our invasion of Iraq, after all.

While I agree with the basic thrust of your post, this detail is incorrect. Abu Nidal was a terrorist (Abu Nidal organization (ANO) a.k.a. Fatah Revolutionary Council, Arab Revolutionary Council, Arab Revolutionary Brigades, Black September, and Revolutionary Organization of Socialist Muslims), but not Al Qaeda. That doesn't make his presence in Iraq any less a causus belli, but it's imprtant to keep the players straight.

In fact, it may have been Abu Nidal's unwillingness to assist Al Qaeda that led to his suicide by multiple gunshot wounds.

While in Baghdad, Abu Nidal, whose real name was Sabri al-Banna, came under pressure from Saddam to help train groups of al-Qa'eda fighters who moved to northern Iraq after fleeing Afghanistan. Saddam also wanted Abu Nidal to carry out attacks against the US and its allies.

When Abu Nidal refused, Saddam ordered his intelligence chiefs to assassinate him. He was shot dead last weekend when Iraqi security forces burst into his apartment in central Baghdad.

NewsMax The story behind the story,Media misleads on 911...

"The press is furiously spinning the 9/11 Commission staff statement in a bid to discredit the Bush administration. Americans should go to the Sept. 11 Commission web site and read the conclusions for themselves:

Very Interesting contradiction by the 911 commission.
According to 911 Staff Commission Overview #15, page 3. Indicates in 1992 Bin Laden sought to build a broader Islamic Army. It incorporated terrorist groups from at least 12 nations including Iraq. It then reads,"Not all groups joined but at least 1 from each country did".
My question remains where is it that Iraq was not involved?

"Bi-partisian"

MUST mean they HAVE to be blind and deaf, equally!

You know.......... balanced. (rolling of my eyes)!!!
