Kerry Misfires In Economic Blame Game
By Steven Pearlstein
Wednesday, June 16, 2004; Page E01
The critical issue of the presidential campaign is not jobs, or the deficit, or even the war in Iraq. The issue is credibility: which candidate can lead the country by telling the truth about where we are and where we need to go. And in that context, the efforts of John Kerry's team to portray the economy as being in terrible shape, and President Bush as being the Herbert Hoover of his era, are badly misguided.

Kerry's toast!
Go Post!
This just shows that even the liberals are scratching their heads in regards to their canidate.
This tactic comes out of the knowledge that the Dims control the matrix. ( mainstream news )
The Blame Game
Let's do "Kerry"
Kerry, Kerry, Bo-Berry,
Bonana-fana, Fo-Ferry
Me-my-mo-Merry
Kerrrrrrrry
It is interesting. You know the old saying: If your opponent is doing something stupid, don't interrupt."
The more conservative media are sitting quietly. The left leaning media is trying to get him to close his yap. If Kerry does move on to another issue, I wonder what it will be? All the primary issues are disappearing.
Healthcare is a likely target.
Stick a fork in Chisel Head, he's done. The DIMS need to bring back Screamin Deaner! He, at least, was funny. Hanoi John is about as interesting as a bag of hammers.
This article slams Dubya big time on his economic policy without really stating facts to back them up...just another hanoi john koolaid drinker writing it.
But I like the headline, and I am surprised to see it in the WaPo.
The Washington Post is doing the Hildabeast's bidding - cutting down Kerry to make sure he doesn't win.
LOL, the author just could not help himself. He tried to write an objective article about the economy and executive policy but could not resist the evil Republican myth.
It must be tough being a committed lunatic.
Oh no, his effort to portray the economy as the worst since the Great Depression, and especially his new "Misery Index" keyphrase (John, that was Jimmy Carter) are right on target. He MUST continue telling the American voter that the economy is terrible and that unemployment benefits must be extended (he was for that before he didn't vote for it 'cause he wasn't there). I am disappointed that he stopped calling companies that move overseas "Benedict Arnolds". He MUST make the American people understand that if we don't vote for him, we're all gonna die, hungry, cold and homeless if we don't for for him in November! Americans are stupid and only learn by frequent repetition!
BTW, did ya'll know Kerry's a Vietnam vet? He's SOOOOOO modest. Must have learned it in those French boarding schools.
"Most of all, the Bush economic program is based on the big lie that endless tax cuts are necessary to sustain economic growth..."
The Post is guilty of advising Kerry to do one thing then they go ahead and do that very thing themselves!!!
Me neither! Dontcha love it when they eat their own. Not only is credibility going to be an issue, but the issue of an AWOL Kerry is starting to gain some steam.
I've thought since the first time I saw the Kerry record on Senate votes (not just this year) that it would grow to be an issue. Americans may be divided on philosophy and issues, but no one likes someone who lays out of work. This one issue could very easily hand Kerry a hearty butt whoopin' in November. The Bushies will probably pull this one out sometime around the convention.
"Oh no, his effort to portray the economy as the worst since the Great Depression, and especially his new "Misery Index" keyphrase (John, that was Jimmy Carter) are right on target. "
It is my belief that Americans have two choices. To go back to the days or Ronald Reagan or go back to the days of Jimmy Carter.
That's the commercial to run every day for the next 5 months.
Tony,
How did you find this article? Is it on their web page? I noted that, when I clicked the link, the article isn't in the WashPost webpage format. Was it picked up from another paper which carried the article?
I've seen this several times before and am just curious where it came from.
If you click for the full article, it comes up fine.
Total denial of the real facts. I saw him in a campaign stop on FOX yesterday, and he was trying to talk down everything good about the country. What a moron.
The article is "formatted for printers".
