"Oh no! Recognize God in the public sphere? What a horrible insult to your secularism! As St. Augustine said, there is a City of God and a City of Man, and one naturally excludes the other. I wish to build the City of God; you wish to build the City of Man. It's as simple as that."

Did our Heavenly Father tell St. Augstine to build the City of God??????? NO he, St. Augstine said he "wish to build".

Now if you had ever read that part of the BOOK that tell us our Heavenly Father already has a CITY and it is HIS most favorite place in the whole world and "man" has fought for generations over that bit of real estate, and will continue to fight over it until the return of Christ, the real Christ not the "play actor, instead-of-christ", that as it is written shows up first.

I know, I know, got to get the handouts from the "church" to be competent to have understanding, and not be called a tool of the devil, that shinning one, that has so many names, and played so many roles, that one who will be allowed to seduce all but the elect.

WHY will the seduction be allowed, because they majority have not read, do not have eyes to see nor ears to hear, it is WRITTEN!!!!

You see, I won't fight over his belief , over his faith nor his condemnation of me to hell....

His or any church can excommunicate a member. Let's leave Inquisitions in history and not try to excuse!

I would fight over state supporting one church. He is suggesting the suppression of freedom.

If a church preaches violence, hatred, overthrow of the US government, terrorism they should be publically condemned and any actions that are undertaken to aid and promote violence.. financial or otherwise should be punished under the law.

It's more than a "suggestion." He is actually demanding the suppression of freedom. I too would fight to defend the Constitution. Which means I'd actively fight against Fifthmark and his robed, monkish thugs when they come to arrest me for daring to think my own thoughts.

I think he would allow you to think it..just not say it and certainly not proclaim it publically..isn't that special?

Of course you realize what he professes and posts exposes more than just his problems with respecting the Constitution..

The Constitution is entirely compatible with Christianity. If it weren't, it wouldn't have been ratified. That's why anyone can, in good conscience, take the oath to preserve and protect the Constitution, and can regard it as the highest law of the land. However, when someone claims that his special insights into the spiritual realm permit him to run around arresting heretics, forcing confessions, etc., it's obvious (except to the maniac) that the Constitution is nothing to him. What we have with this thread is a full-blown declaration of insanity. A very dangerous form of insanity. I'm really surprised that this thread hasn't been moved.

Yes, of course the Constitution is compatible with Christianity and most other faiths, for that matter.

Muslims who allow or promote violence against, imprisonment or execution of those who preach Christianity or any faith but Islam would not find our Constitution compatible, however.

Isn't it interesting that Christianity thrives when Christianity ISN"T declared the religion of the state.

Faith cannot be "established" or decreed..much less enforced. Professing a belief means little when a State declares only one belief can be accepted.

Interesting, but not surprising. It's like that with the economy too. The best way to have flourishing institutions is to keep them free from government regulation, supervision, or subsidies.

Roger that, Dog! The "Sir" is a product of long years as a proud Enlisted. I always taught my lads that the "Sir", and the Salute are as much for their OWN respect as for that of the Officer's rank. One of the ways, as I preached, that an Enlisted man shows his own pride is with a snappy salute and proper protocol.

BTW, like my new tagline?

Like PH said, thank God for the Second Amendment. With enough people like this around, maybe the Left might soften up a bit on that one.

Don't count on it. Afghanistan was ruled by people like this, but the Left still thought it was a "war crime" to overthrow them.

The Left loves America-haters of all kinds, even those who want to kill the Leftists. Rationality has never been their strong suit.

Funny. It's caused me many a swift journey to a good night's sleep.

They don't call it "the Big Blue Sleeping Pill" for nothin'.

There's gotta be something comparable on commercial airliners.

I was referring specifically to flat-spin procedures in the F-14.

A Tomcat flat spin must truly be scary. I've read that, after a couple of turns, it's unrecoverable. Is that true, or is that just the A model?

Unrecoverable 99% of the time. The book says get out, though Bs and Ds usually have the juice not to enter one.

Jesus. What's the reason for that? Is it ingrained in the aerodynamics or something?

And just because I'm seeking answers, how did we get from a discussion of the Inquisition to the flat-spin charecteristics of an F-14?

FR ROCKS!

The Tomcat is very wide, the area between the engines actually creates lift. In a spin, the aircraft does not have enough stability along the long axis to naturally fall out of a spin with just forward stick and reverse rudder. You are just as likely to just invert and keep spinning, because at high alpha, the rudders control roll, rather than yaw, making them useless for spin recovery.
