Al Qaida's most dangerous operative, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, has personally warned terror kingpin Osama bin Laden that his troops are under intensifying pressure from U.S. forces in Iraq and prospects for a terrorist victory look bleak.

They're just now figuring this out?

More importantly, I thought there was no connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq.

I really question the authenticity of this.

Why don't you explain why you can't figure this out? This is the truth. Or would rather believe the talking heads of CBS, CNN, etc.

"The space of movement is starting to get smaller," Zarqawi warned. "The [U.S.] grip is starting to be tightened on the holy warriors' necks and, with the spread of soldiers and police, the future is becoming frightening."

Zarqawi sounds contrite and circumspect. Wonder why? Maybe it's because the jihadists never measure up when they are faced head-on. They are much more adept at launching sneak attacks on women and children.

Short Term:

The US, Coalition forces and Iraqis in the ICDC, NIA and IPs will have to push hard for security. Lots of Guards, Check points, searches and so fourth. People will be annoyed and bothered by the "Occupation" which in reality at this point is just the venting of frustration that is even against Iraqi forces conducting these operations.

Long Term:

The building of a real Iraqi Government (Partially operational), security forces and revitalization of the Iraqi economy and infrastructure combined with unprecedented access to information via satalite TV, radio or news papers will change the perception within Iraq. Long term the support for these terrorists will get squeezed more and more.

They know this! That's why they TARGET the new government officials (Several killed just recently). That's why they target the Iraqi security forces as they do. Iraq, if it succeeds as a democratic republic that is self sustaining will by vertue of "What" it is, oppose these groups. They are doing all they can to destabilize Iraq and the sensationalistic media is doing all it can to help them (Abu Garhib, lack of all success stories in the media). It is sad to see how are own media has become an unpaid unofficial press agent of the terrorists. All in the name of ratings.

I am quite suprised at NewsMax for repeating an old story and giving the impression that the story is new.

This almost identical letter was on a CD found many months ago.

Checked for other sources, and it looks like this story has some legs....

TOP IRAQ FIEND CRIES TO OSAMA , [excerpt--AP, NYPost]

AL-ZARQAWI Says U.S. grip "tightens."

June 15, 2004 -- CAIRO, Egypt — A leader of militants in Iraq has purportedly written to Osama bin Laden, saying his fighters are being squeezed by U.S.-led coalition troops, according to a statement posted yesterday on Islamic Web sites.

Then again, this could be a signal to some remote cell.

Build up a story of that they're embattled and on the verge of collapse. Publish a letter laced with supplications to the demon they worship, then blow up a school bus or something and declare it a great victory. The new yawk times will report the triumph of the "insurgency" rising phoenix-like, etc.

Something nasty could be coming our way. It's a set up.
