Nope.
They hauled 'em in 'Cause they will reliably vote for their benefactors in Augusta, thus maintainting the political status quo here, if not dragging us furthur down into the black hole of socialism.
And never mind the "Non-Citizen Immigrant's can't vote" line; LEOs are not even permitted to INQUIRE of anyone's Citizenship status, and I assume the same goes for election or polling officials. Dare ask who that is under the burqua who is casting their ballott and stand by to be sued hard... at the very least.
A few Immigration people came up to Portland and rounded a few up, but were soon sent scurrying back to Washington to cower under their desks and write appology letters for having the audacity to make some of our "minorities" uncomfortable. I suspect that a phone call went in to our Senior Senator's office, and the "correction" to the INS's lack of manners was soon forthcoming. And I don't think that you'll see the INS back up here in Maine any time soon.
Certianly not before November, anyway.
I'm not too concerned about the Islammonazis hitting too many targets here in Maine, since there are so many nests of 'em in the State and I don't think that they like to blow much stuff up in their own backyard all that often.
Like two of the 9/11 killers (one of them the Ringleader - i forget the desert-reptile's name), they like to commute to work from Portland.
It was fully expected that things here in the US would become much as they have been for years in Israel, with Islammakazis blowing themselves up in malls and resturants regularly, and vehicular bombs going off several times a week. Much to the Administrations' credit, we have been pleasently surprised by the lack of such domestic activity since 9/11.
But I can't imagine them letting this election in November pass without trying something desperate, given the success they had in Spain with "regime change by terror".
The only thing we have to find out is with what, where, and when. And it would not surprise me in the least if at least part of the planning and preparation is going on right now up here in Lewiston.

I always forget about that place. Isn't it supposedly losing traffic to Easton, Polaris, etc.? Not as bad as Tower Place down here. About 1/4 the size of City Center and tenants are fleeing it like a plague, thanks to all the Village Idiots (aka City Council) has done to chase businesses across the river and out into the suburbs.
ohmygawd, that's too close to home (PA) for comfort.
This will DEEPLY affect the state's (false) sense of security, IMO.

Quietly, they moved in, bought homes, wear suits, hold down decent jobs, become a pillar in their communities......for what? Why?
I just pray that our Homeland Security is really strong, believe me.........something isn't passing the smell test with this.

I read that story awhile back here on FR. Our country is so full of "soft targets" like malls it really is inevitable they pull something off like this. I am speculating after Iraqi, we will see Al Queda shift it's nasty resources back here to these kinds of targets, like Israel faces. We will become accustomed to it like Israel has and kill them all slowly but surely.
What about Polaris in the Columbus area?
When our Governor was still a Senator, he worked with Rep. Tom Allen and the Catholic Charities to bring in 1,200 Somali's to Lewiston. Last I heard, 49 of them worked, while the rest lives off of state welfare. Why Maine? Beats me.
But the one hijacker stopped over in Portland (right by Lewiston) the night before 9-11. Who did he talk to? A lot of us are wondering that very thing. WHO did he talk to? Why did he spend the night in Portland, Maine? Why not Bangor or Boston?

Representatives Baldacci and Allen called for $100,000 in funding to enable Catholic Charities of Maine to provide needed services to Somali immigrants in Lewiston and other communities. Catholic Charities provides outreach and assistance to refugees and immigrants.
Maine has a hard time finding work and feeding their own. Yet Baldacci and Allen want to help the INFLUX of immigrants! What's up with this!
It would be foolish for anyone to believe that the goal of those who follow the death cult is to ever live in peace with the U.S.
We have too many freedoms that don't mesh with their views.
That has been mentioned to, along with City Center.
