This conversation took place today at the Springfield, PA Borders Books:
Metrosexual Clerk: Can I help you?
Libertarian4Bush: Yes, I have a couple questions. First, do you have any of the books on this list [a relative's pre-college reading list], or are there any similar books you could recommend?
Metrosexual Clerk (without even looking): Well, we have Bill Clinton's new book.
Libertarian4Bush: No no - I mean, fiction is fine, but I'm looking for actual AUTHORS.
Metrosexual Clerk : Well, obviously, you have an agenda.
Libertarian4Bush: No, I would just rather not be subjected to yours.
Metrosexual Clerk : What was your other question?
Libertarian4Bush: Well, I was looking to pick up a Neopet plushy for someone, but I think I'll buy it somewhere else instead.
Metrosexual Clerk : Sir, I-
Libertarian4Bush: Sorry, too late. Limited Too is up the street, and they won't whore themselves to peddle the lies of an attention-starved sociopath.
Can't they recognize talent when it stares them down?
The best bathrooms-at least men's bathrooms-can be found inside of the gigantic "Toys R' Us" store on Times Square and 42nd Street.
I have no use for the toys-once I purchased a couple of batteries from them-but their bathrooms are simply exquisite!
LOL!
I think I'll try it!
**The Death of a Metrosexual Salesman.**
And hopefully the impending closure of many Borders stores if they are out there with this kind of agenda.
**It's also always fun to cover up their liberal displays with conservative leaning books.**
I used to do that with the scantily clad covers of magazines (women's) in the grocery store! LOL!
Just about every one I write gets published; I think it's because I try and insert a Zinger somewhere.
Definitely. Our oldest daughter..........who's every bit as conservative as her old man, has worked at a Border's in north Raleigh, NC for years. Cool people there. They treat mom and dad like royalty, and conservatives' books are prominently displayed. Good bunch of folks.
George Michael prefers the mens room at a little neighborhood park in Santa Monica...
The only two pro-Bush books that I can think of off the top of my head, are "Bush Country" (which I've read, and thought was a remarkable polemic.) and the few books written by reporters for the Washington Times. I can't recall their exact titles, but the authors were Bill Gertz and Bill Sammon.
Face facts. The pinkos have commandeered the bookshelf this election cycle.
In fact, I recently spotted a Spanish translation of 'Dick' Clarke's self-important diatribe against the Bush administration's security policy. So, I guess even our Latin American friends get to partake in the ritualistic orgy of left-wing hatred and vitriol directed against G.W. Bush.
Personally, if I were you, I'd run out and buy that devastating dissection of the Carter presidency that was recently published.
My point was that their bathroom isn't so sty-like that you would be afraid to take a dump there. Which is pretty decent, in my humble opinion.
Amazon.com is Borders.
What torques me off more is that the Clinton book wasn't even OUT yet - they were probably just going to have me "pre-order it"... meanwhile, anything written by a conservative is hidden upside down behind the latte machine.
