Is that AF-One (or 28000, as I guess it was called for this flight)?

My first vote was for Nixon in '72. I'd vote for him again, considering the opposition. My second vote was for Flournoy in '74. I am proud to say that I voted for Reagan in three presidential elections, beginning in '76.

My father's been dead for seven years and my mother still smells his cigar, etc. Memories are a powerful thing. Meanwhile, I HATE CNN's coverage of this.

Hi, cyborg-- I know what you are talking about. About a year after my first wife died, I went into her closet, where I hadn't gone since cleaning her belongings out, and opened a drawer I thought I had emptied.

In it, lost, forgotten, and overlooked in the great purge of her things was a splint
( she was handicapped, this is what she wore on her right hand to enable her to write )
... and for a few seconds, I smelled her smell... and then it was gone, forever.

I cannot recall a more deeply wonderful, or hurtful, moment in my life.

For a few seconds, I had her back, and lost her again, for ever, and ever.

Far as CNN goes, the last time I really watched it was for the pictures as 9-11 happened. They are good at pictures, and little else.

This will likely be Margaret Thatcher's last visit to America. And her taped eulogy will probably be her last public speech. There is much sadness this week. The great lions of the 1980s are fading.

Lady T's speech was an absolute class act--unforgettable, as was her bowing before the President's casket at the graveside.

How privileged I am to have lived in the same era as these two giants.

I've heard it reported that George W. Bush and Tony Blair speak at least once a week, and have often prayed together. This world needs leaders like that.

Bo Derek. No longer a "10." Now more like a "9.5"

At least 90. He's got more energy than I do, though.

The left hates God first, then they hate Geo. W. Bush next because he points the nation toward faith in God.

I feel for Michael too, but after all, Patti and Ron are Nancy's children. Michael's mom is Jane Wyman.

I conveyed the same thought on one of the Reagan online memorials this week. How blessed to have lived during the Reagan Era.

I got to see the replay on CSPAN just now. Absolutely amazing are the words that come to mind right now.

I missed this live b/c of work, but I made sure to see it tonight when I got home.

Helping to celebrate the life of President Reagan, I was heartened by the soothing words given by Senator John Danforth and Rev. Michael Wenning. Their words were full of grace and kindness.

President Reagan spoke of that shining city on a hill. Those who caught a glimpse of the scenery in the hills of Simi Valley during the sunset have witnessed one of the most beautiful sights in this great country.

I hope one day soon to visit this place so I can pay my respects to the man who was my president during my childhood, and the leader who I came to respect as I became old enough to understand the great things he did. He has been released from the chains of this terrible disease. He is free, just as the millions of people now who were once enslaved by the heavy hand of communism. They, and I, and the world are forever in his debt.

The feminazi's need to go to another planet and die off. Men are not our enemy. Men are a companion to women. It is high time all women learn that men are just as essential as they are.

I was struck all week with his seeming aloofness. Patti is right there through all the ceremonies, comforting and holding their mother's hand. I've hardly seen Ron near Mrs. Reagan at all, which struck me as odd. After all, being her son, you'd think he'd be right there assuming the "man of the family" role.

I think ALL of you who think anything like this need to watch the tape again. It was Patti, after all, who ended her "speech" with some athiestic blathering about "going back to the Earth."

Ron, on the other hand, ended his with the hope of seeing his father one day. Perhaps he's a new Christian. It seemed as though Michael was giving him encouragement...both after his speech, and at the casket. If that's true, I'm sure he'll be encouraged by the warmth and welcoming that you've shown him on this thread.

Some of you are so quick to take offense at a percieved insult, that you overlook reality. Incidently, I, as a Ronald Reagan Conservative also take insult when others try to uphold stupid policies by claiming "Ronald Reagan supported it"...lying through their teeth, of course. Perhaps he's a bit resentful; I don't blame him.
