Democratic Party historian Doris Kearns Goodwin said Friday morning she was disappointed that ex-presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter haven't been invited to speak at Ronald Reagan's funeral. "It would have been a good thing to have them speak, especially for Carter," she told radio host Don Imus. "I feel bad for him. It's been a bad week when you think about how many people have said, 'After the horrible Carter years, here came Reagan.'"
"Carter has so thoroughly reestablished himself in his post-presidency," she added, that "having him have a chance to speak would have been nice, yes."
Asked about Reagan's death on Sunday, Carter refused to offer a statement to reporters, but later told his Sunday school class that Reagan was "a formidable communicator and campaigner." He added, "It was because of him that I was retired from my last job."
When Imus pointed out that having Clinton speak at Reagan's service was like "having Courtney Love talk at Mother Tersea's funeral," Kearns Goodwin sounded confused, asking, "You mean he might go on too long?"

"Carter has so thoroughly reestablished himself in his post-presidency," she added, that "having him have a chance to speak would have been nice, yes." Yeah, he thoroughly restablished himself as a partisan horse's ass who broke the tradition of ex-presidents not directly criticizing their predecessors and wormed his way into foreign policy matters he had no business getting involved in.
Isn't there a book somewhere you could be plagarizing, Doris, instead of writing this inane babble?

"I feel bad for him. It's been a bad week when you think about how many people have said, 'After the horrible Carter years, here came Reagan.'"TS. I'll wear a red dress to Carter's funeral. He was a terrible president and even a worse former president. He needs a big helping of STFU.

"Carter has so thoroughly reestablished himself in his post-presidency," she added, that "having him have a chance to speak would have been nice, yes." Reestablished himself???? How, by bashing Bush during a time of war. Aiding and abetting our enemy. Just the same ole Carter, pandering to evil.

It is ambrassing how out of it Kearns Goodwin is and can be depended on to say something stupid. And that smirk of hers. She was caught plagerizing, yet she is still makes appearances.

Well, Doris, this isn't about them; it is about Ronald Reagan.

Forget that carter was an absolute failure as President and that his administration damn near crushed the spirit of Americans. We should forget all that and give North Korea's second favorite ex-president a soap box for his anti-American rantings at the funeral of a true American hero!?!?! I think not!

Hey, Doris, this isn't about your precious Carter.

Too bad Billy Carter isn't still around. They could have had him speak too.

LOL!!! The plagerizer strikes again! She has the credibility of a gnat which matches Carter and Clinton!
Would be glad to tell her that Republicans will be more than happy to be left out of Clinton's arrangements! :)

It is Nancy's decision as to who speaks, get over it liberals.

Great line by Imus, blinding glimpse of the obvious stupidity of Kearns Goodwin.
