LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
Right and its glad I am that you don't. LOL
I know what you mean, but I'll be posting updates on our commoners' crusade here.
I don't do well when the flag is given to the family and taps -- too many memories.
Why should they have spoken? They didn't have a good word to say about Reagan when he was alive; why should we have to listen to their phony platitudes when he is dead.
I'm listening to KRLA/Micheal Medved...he is talking about it.

Doris Kerns Goodwin was a kneepadder for Johnson and is a plagerizer -- purely partisan!
For you opera buffs - how does the guy today compare to the Three Tenors?
I thought he was fabulous
Well, the National American Spirit is used by politicians and the media when ever the situation deem fit. They take you up and take you down all of the time.
However, the American Spirit I miss is running down to the local Mom and Pop store for penny candy with my friends as a kid. Mom and Pop were nice to me as a kid and I was able to get to know them.
Today it's a 7-11 on every corner and the help behind the counter can't smile or say thank you. These shop keepers have dead souls and could care less about you as a customer and forget about being a neighbor.
I don't know maybe it's just me but people were nicer back when Americans were DEBT FREE.
The last time I felt people neighborly is when I was in Naples, Italy or in small town USA.
But I do understand your concern...something has changed.
The sun will never set in California As long as Ronald Wilson Reagan Remains in our Hearts
I do not think this was contrived. I believe the slickmeister burns the candle at both ends especially while he is trying to pump up sales of his book. He looks like hangover type tiredness. Also nobody is talking to them, which when you are very tired and bored helps you perk up a bit.
Heard that, too. Do you or anyone know if they will replay the services from earlier today? I flipped over to CSPAN since they covered the Rotunda memorial but they are now showing LBJ's funeral... *sigh*
So I switched back to FNC.
Here are some details of the service, according to FOX; all three of Ronald's children will speak. A bagpipe will play "Amazing Grace" as they bring the casket up. The'll fold the flag that's been on top of his casket, and present it to Nancy. They also said over 700 people will be there. I'm so glad they decided to share this with all of us!
Bull and Swillary Klinton looked hung over. Disrespectful trash, the both of em'.
Well Pavarotti in my opinion will have the greatest recorded opera voice of all times. However he has since fallen from greatness. I always loved the sweetness in Carreras voice and I still give him high marks. Domingo...he was never my favorite but hes good.
TYNAN has a blessed voice and should be able to sing like this for another 20 years : )
Bill Keller, the Times' editor, said in the New York Observer this week that he hadn't heard a single reader complaint about the Reagan coverage. I wrote him and told them I found that hard to believe, particularly when the Times had to issue a press release to justify the coverage! He actually wrote me back, and tried to weasel out of his comments by saying that "maybe" readers had written to the paper's Letters Page, or to the paper's public editor.
I knew it! And none of it televised, right?
Really, I think I'm second to none in my disdain for this reprehensible woman. I think this was a difficult day for her - one that celebrates everything she rejects, and implicitly rejects everything she stands for. She couldn't smile, lest some think this was a moment of joy for her. When she entered, I thought she did so in a dignified manner. (Ooooooooooh, it hurts to say that.) And I though that I've never seen her in a more attractive outfit. (Maybe BLACK is her color?)

Looking back at the Reagan years has brought back how evil the press were back then. Rather was mean when he was on 60 minutes and Sam Donaldson was one of the biggest Clymers around along with Helen Thomas.
I didn't know that. How fitting....
