LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
Great eulogy by Mulroney with a beautiful ending.
.
Bush 41 is up.
I heard the catch in Mulroney's voice...he nearly broke down in tears.
yep...dittos. Dish Network rules! I am at work listening to audio but I'm recording it on my Dish DVR.
This is not the time or place for DU-speak. Please keep this thread clear of that crap.
I wasn't talking about Catholics taking communion..rather if the EC was going to offer it...
Mulroney is doing a magnificiant job!
Lady Thatcher did beautifully, as she always did.
What great communicators, all of them!
God Bless all who loved our great President!
"Here's a fascinating thought....since Reagan was still compos mentis when he asked Thatcher to do
eulogize hhim, I'd wager that he reciprocated, he would want to... and prepared one for her as well. It's
probably a closely guarded secret, but we will hear from the Gipper one more time.....in fact, it has to
be.....your thoughts?...."
How about this one... Wouldn't it be great if The Great
Communicator had recorded one last message of hope, love
and graditude to be presented to us at this time?
Bubba speaking after Mulroney and Baroness Thatcher and the first President Bush? Perish the thought!
Every time I see Clinton, I think of Monica and that cigar.
Well, she sure gave the not-yet-converted an earful. LOL I wasn't all that happy with Senator Stephens remarks, too tell ya the truth. Thought they were partisan and perhaps a little inappropriate for a memorial ceremony, they would have been perfect for a tribute to President Reagan at the convention this summer. But, Mrs Thatcher is a former head of state, an ally and a close personal friend and those sentiments were more appropriate for her.
Bush Sr. speaking too fast.
All the Presidents are there.
Excellent job by Brian Mulroney! A great friend!
Maybe Clinton was faking --- just to get the camera on him.
I love it when people of integrity and deceny speak from the heart. (This is why Bubba isn't speaking at this ceremony.)
Yes, please. Not now.
I'm in favor of giving that Canadian special recognition. He has brains and class. Wish he'd cross the line.
