LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
You have that one right -- waiting for lightening to strike the end of the first row pew!
Lady Thatcher now, I am just like a fountain.
I did a Google search the other day for Ron Reagan. One of the first links was to an atheist site (forgive me for not having the link) that claimed that he is an atheist.
The camera pointed to them at a prayer during the state funeral Wednesday night, and I noticed Ron not bowing during the prayer.
Apparently, Ron Reagan has not only rejected his father's politics, but, more tragically, has rejected his father's God.
Folks, lay aside the wrangling for one hour, at least
Cubicle-bound again :-( What did he say?
Regards, Ivan
Best answer of the day.
Dunno, but if there's a French representative at the funeral, THIS AP story released on June 9 doesn't show it...unless a change was made over the past two days. Or if "French" is now spelled "I-r-i-s-h" or something, one of the two.
Very appropriate choice given the strong ties between England and America -- I find deep meaning in this selection.
Lady Thatcher speaking....how touching and special....GREAT WORDS AND TRUTH BEING SPOKEN
Hopefully clinton won't stand and do a lighter tribute. What trash.
She looks so classy in that hat.
Bubba is thinking if he should have strippers performing at his funeral.
Umm... so? :-) If it's good, it's good!
M. Thatcher is so dignified. What a wonderful woman.
I have lost all composure listening to Baroness Thatcher's eulogy to President Reagan.
And who is the attractive brunette sitting next to Prince Charles? Anybody know?
I Love it, too.
And the movie it reminds of--Chariots of Fire.
Calls to mind a Great God and Great character.
You're welcome! Pray the phones remain silent, for we shall surely kick the living c**p out of anyone who disturbs this day on our borders.
Okay, I'm crying. With Margaret Thatcher's first words the waterworks turned on.
"He sought to soothe America's wounded spirit..."
Margaret Thatcher
This is a beautiful tribute. Pictures, and video of the President.
And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountain green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark satanic mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.
