Did you take your happy pills today Quix? I'm on a serious vein today. Thinking ahead to Saturday when we get to participate in a mock smallpox emergency drill. In light of the Philadephia plane incident, I have grave concern we are not protecting our airspace effectively (whether on land or from the sea). I wish our military spokespeople would assure us they have more than our bases covered. I promise to lighten up now that I've vented. Got any of those happy pills for me?
If my memory serves, the price of oil was around $10.24 per barrel in early 1999. Bill Clinton dispatched Bill Richardson (then Secretary of Energy, now Gov of AZ) to ask OPEC to increase the prices. In short order, the price of oil skyrocketed. Prices per barrel jumped to the $30 to $35 per barrel range by the end of 2000. The economy started heading down. Clinton wanted to ensure that any successor would inherit a thoroughly screwed economy. Bush's win started a decline in oil prices until the 9/11/2001 attack, but we never dropped under $20/barrel. The war in Iraq and increased demand from China has forced a steady increase in oil prices. Nailing Saudi Arabian supplies would be a real swift kick in the shins.

Perhaps I shouldn't. I'm torn.
But some characters get away with haughty, arrogant attitudinal, verbal, emotional murder over and over and over and over.
And then they cry like stuck pigs for 1/10th the same in return. I get tired of watching that phenomenon on this thread and a lot of others.
At some point it seems exceedingly fitting to give them some of what they dish out so liberally. It took me a long time in this exchange to rachet up to that, but I finally did. Sigh.
