I received an IM from a friend who received a Blackberry from someone sitting on the tarmac at JFK for four hours.

There is a large storm cell in the area, all outbound flights are parked, and some runways are landing planes with LOW FUEL.

the thread always gets like this when it gets quiet. It has been quiet the past several days. I don't mean quiet as in news stories etc. The noise is not detectable by the obvious but many on here know what I am talking about. Today is getting noisey again. The thread will be on track again.

So we are in Iraq while Russia has allied with Iran, and China is entering into an agreement with Syria. Sure must be getting crowded over there. China and N. Korea are rattling their respective sabers and we have 10 (or 11) of our carrier groups out to sea. We have redeployed some troops from S. Korea to Iraq, reserves are being called up and the United Nations nuclear watchdog has issued a worldwide high-security alert warning countries, including South Africa, about the dangers of possible nuclear terrorism attacks. And then there is the latest terrorist threat posted on Jill's site.
The wildcard in this mix?????? Everybody better keep an eye on Israel, especially our enemies.

Your perception matches mine. It is a warning to the people in Saudi to put away emergency supplies in anticipation of a major league problem. Civil unrest, food and water shortages. They recommend arms and ammo...preferably machine guns. General chaos. They expect foreign intervention to protect the oil supplies in the midst of the action.

If Saudi oil gets cut off, we should expect to have similar problems moving goods and supplies the U.S. too.
