I had just flipped over to Cspan and saw Gorby offering his respects to President Reagan.

MSNBC just showed a clip of Rudy Guiliani offering his respects to President Reagan. I'm waiting for President Bush to come to the Capitol.

Gorby's probably more religious (in the best sense of the word) than phony John Kerry

Keep in mind when you look at those images is that Gorbachev came to Reagan's funeral, and Chirac did not. What more do you need to know?

Reagan and Gorbachev came together at a unique moment in time to allow the crumbling of the Cold War. It was Reagan's unique personality, the ability to get on a truly personable level with Gorbachev, that was the breakthrough. Reagan was instrumental, but both men were vital. It would not have happened had the Soviet leader been in the Brezhnev, Khrushev mode. And, I don't believe it would've happened had the US President been someone even like George HW Bush, who was too formal and stiff and diplomatic to make the connection. Reagan's idealism was the key, his personality the catalyst, and Gorbachev a willing accomplice.

Stalin and Kruschev currently at 4,500 RPM and climbing.

It was a heart warming gesture from former Premier Gorbechov. I appreciate it very much.

Many in AMerica and across the old Soviet Union have already or will eventually come to acknowledge what a blessing to have those two men at the helms of the two most powerful nations on earth, to end the nuclear standoff of mutually assured destruction. we're not out of the woods due to the demonically driven Islamofascists and Arab lust for nuclear weapons with which to blackmail the world, but one huge hurdle has been covered.

What's great is that you can see the knobby knees belonging to average Americans just behind him. Gorby came to the 'people's house' to pay his respects.

LOL!

"Yes, Tommy, you were big...and important...yes you were important. Now, if you'll just give me your arm, we'll take you where they can't hurt you anymore."

I found this when researching. Will keep on looking.

Inner transformations also help move people and countries ahead, he said, and he shared his personal change of heart toward religion. An atheist, Gorbachev said his views now are more open toward religion. "[Religion] is something a person has to decide for himself," he said. "It's a personal and intimate process."

Wouldn't it be great if, right when he touched the casket, Reagan had pre-arranged to have a recorder play, "Mr. Gorbachev, take down your hand!".

LOL! Too funny!

I like the way you think. :-)

“I wouldn't want to take anything away from this moment, but for the past couple of decades Gorby has been a major player in the NWO movement, working with Mary Robinson and the clintons for worldwide Family Planning (i.e. abortion). I hope he will indeed repent. But he has not been a force for good since he left his post in Russia.”

Exactly my thoughts. I seem to recall from a few years ago (say about 5) Gorby made some comment along the lines of “it’s not right that the US has xx percent of the world’s wealth but only xx percent of the population.” Typical left-wing nonsense. Honestly, I can only hope that we have seen the last of his political career, because I get the feeling he would like nothing better than to be elected King of the UN (after the UN declares worldwide taxing authority and law enforcement).

Of course I would love for everyone to accept Christ; but I have not seen much over the past 15 years to believe that to be the case with Gorby.

Mikhail Gorbachev believes in God, Kerry believes in the dnc.

America has a lot more atheists these days than Russia. Then we have Kerry, the faux Catholic wise guy. Going through the (religious) motions for photo opportunities

In the former lands of the Soviet Empire, Reagan will always be regarded as the Great Liberator.

Ronald Reagan was the best thing to ever happen for the people of Russia, and everyone else under their former totalitarian government.

he is about as liberal as Al Gore or Kerry.
I doubt he could be that liberal.

Perhaps he is but at least a Russian lefty or communist for that matter doesn't have as his primary focus the destruction of his own country so they are far less despicable than our own lefties, communists, 'rats, socialists, etc.

Noooo. Really? If true, good for him.
