Will Clinton's life end with a state funeral? Don't think so. His legacy is questionable.

Not only that, but who will play Clinton's grieving widow?

My heart goes out to Mrs. Reagan whenever I see her. She looks so alone. But even in her obvious grief, she remains every inch the great lady she has always been.

Because Reagan planned his own funeral, we should not be surprised that Clinton was ommitted from the ceremonies.

Another change was made by the Reagan family. They requested the placement of a pair of the president's own boots, reversed, in the stirrups of the riderless horse that marched down Constitution Avenue in his funeral procession.

That image brought tears to my eyes. It captured the character of a mere man, along with the monumental role he played on the world stage.

We respect the office.

We abhor the individual.

Does that help?

KNowing Bilbo, he is taking notes this week and trying to figure out how he can "One up" the Reagan Funeral.

You beat me to it. Whatever plans he has, I wouldn't put it past him to rewrite them to "outdo" Reagan. Smarmy worm.

The only President to be impeached was Andrew Johnson.

Andrew Johnson was not impeached. See the following site:

http://idid.essortment.com/impeachmentand_rhkd.htm

The 16th of May, 1868 was a landmark one in the history of the United States Presidency. On that day the President of that nation came within just one Senate vote of being impeached. That one vote would have removed the President from office. President Andrew Johnson, who took office upon the tragic assassination of Abraham Lincoln, had long angered the U.S. Congress with his refusal to accept the First Reconstruction Act.

The performance of our nation's National Honor Guard has been outstanding, as usual.

When x-42 assumes room temperature, it will take much prayer and Bible-study for The Lord to convict me to put my flag at half-mast.

The only President to be impeached was Andrew Johnson.

If I recall correctly, Bill Clinton was impeached and because of that I wonder, when his time comes, if he will be allowed a State Funeral.

Yes, Andrew Johnson was impeached. Also, Bill Clinton was impeached.

Neither of them were convicted.

Read the quote I copied. Do a web search. Johnson was tried for impeachment. He was not impeached.

As for BJ Clinton, if he could freeze himself in a cryonic chamber he would.

Or sleep on Hillary's side of the bed...

If he were not worthy of a state funeral, it wouldn't have happened. I don't believe it was a crass political move on anyone's part. It was simply a just end to his life and contribution to our country.

I look at Reagan's state funeral as a final gesture of courtesy on his part. I am intensely grateful that he chose a state funeral, because without all these events going on, without the opportunity to mourn and say goodbye in a personal way, I would have felt cheated. He is giving the people who love him the chance to celebrate his life, and to gain some sense of closure from our loss.

Then so is every other site I looked at not to mention the book "Profiles in Courage." I guess the world is wrong and you are right, huh?

I note you failed to back your claim up with a single fact. You wouldn't be a liberal by chance?
