That is the same platform that Abrahma Lincoln was placed. It was build after Lincoln and used since.

IMHO Cheney and Bush should not both be here. Cheney is speaking tonight.

My gut feeling tells me that President Bush probalby didnt' want to hinder the American public- can you imagine the hoopla and security and fuss if a sitting President was to attend? The security itself would distract from the event and make it a nightmare for the average Joe.

I can remember my mother bearing this expression when she was very sad. That shot reminds me of my grandmother Virginia on the day we buried my grandfather. She passed Christmas week last year, and I expect she's acquainted with Mr. Reagan about now.

Bush should have come back to DC for this arrival ceremony. Seeing it now, the magnitude of it, its quite out of place that he is not there. Its less then a 2 hour flight from GA to DC. Bush will give the eulogy on Friday.
Cheney is doing the honors tonight.
It's not about him.

Mrs. Reagan reaching to touch the casket
When I saw this, my first thought was that Nancy was giving him one last swat on the @**.
Sorry if that's tacky, but it is something I would do to Mr. S_S29 and was my immediate thought...

do you mean for security reasons? won't both Bush and Cheney be at the cathedral on Friday?

he Code 3s are to people who dropped along the parade route. Tommy Thompson has deployed every available doc and nurse in the Public Health Service in the D.C. area to take care of any medical problems the crowd may have.
