So a private university can't change its name if it wants?

I suppose next we'll be hearing that South Carolina is changing its name to Lower Carolina in order to be more PC.

Less-North Carolina. Or maybe Northeast Georgia.
South Dakota will become North Nebraska.

Is there any school left in the USA that has academic excellence as its main organizing principle, instead of diversity, political correctness etc. University of the South was on my short list of schools to which I was prepared to send my kids - the list seems to get shorter every month.
Another part of the Episcopal Church going to hell in a handcart.

You didn't read the whole post did you? The University of the South at Sewanee employed an obviously liberal marketing firm whose advise was to become a copy of Berkeley in California while eliminating all references to their proud southern heritage.

We have plenty of race hustler PC grovelers here....seems one has graced us with his presence..lol
I know two Sewanee grads here....both early 40s and very very very liberal.
Nowadays both St Andrews and Sewanee have pretty lefty student bodies.....known as bigtime stoner schools. I'm surprised the faculty bucked the Yankee advice.
Damned pretty setting though a hair isolated.
*there are Good Yankees to be found.

So a private entity is not allowed to use any marketing firm they wish?
If they want to change their name to Yankee Doodle Union PC U they can do it.

Are we going to have to change compasses now too?
North and Not-North, I suppose.
To: babyface00
Yes. Non-North. But North has a lot of connotations that might make one think "south".
So latitudinally negative should probably be the term.
