"Indecent Exposure"

John Kerry political cartoon.

June 9, 2004...

Kerry photo-ops Reagan casket

Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry showed up at the Reagan Library on Tuesday afternoon to view the deceased former president’s casket, setting off a firestorm of reaction.

·        At issue: The need for a Kerry visit to the Reagan Library in California. As reported by Rush Limbaugh, a Kerry spokesperson had already announced Kerry would attend the State Funeral for Reagan on Friday in Washington, D.C.

·        At issue: The photographer accompanying Kerry into the Reagan Library. Clear guidelines (handed out to everyone prior to entering the library to view Reagan’s casket) state: “Absolutely no photography will be allowed inside the Library.” A photographer entered slightly ahead of Kerry and took pictures of Kerry while he was there. These pictures were posted as ‘Associated Press’ photos on YahooNews news 30 minutes after Kerry’s visit. [see photo below]

·        At issue: The timing of the Kerry visit to the Reagan Library in California. Dignitaries could view the casket at the Reagan Library in California before the general public or after the general public; or in Washington, D.C. during the time set aside for the other government big wigs to attend. California Governor and Mrs. Schwarzenegger were in attendance during regular public viewing hours at the personal request of Mrs. Reagan – who did not take Kerry’s personal phone call to her, and did not issue an invitation to Kerry.

I like the look of the guy to his right in the white shirt ha ha! I can just imagine what he`s thinking....

The lady in front of him doesn't look very excited about F'ing being there either. The guy is probably thinking on the lines of:

Kerry, you slimeball. You aren't fit to wash dog$#!+ off that man's shoes.

He is so crass. Low-rent. No matter what they do, Reagan belongs to US. We who have always loved him.

On top of everything else, Kerry was INSIDE of the roping when he performed for the camera. Physical intrusion or space around the casket. I'm surprised he didn't pose w/his hand on the casket.

Presumptive Presumptuous Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry

Yesterday I read that his campaign team was VERY concerned about this move but he insisted.

As far as HOW he got in there, I imagine he came breezing up with his posse and if anyone had the nerve to say anything, barked "I'm a UNITED STATES SENATOR," and waltzed on in anyway.

I shouldn't, but I'm going to bump anyway. Our President Reagan would have been gracious, and understanding, but deep down he would recognize this classless stunt for exactly what it was.

And to think, he was doing this for 20 minutes, standing there like a waxwork dummy from a horror show. MAAAN I can`t believe this!

Reagan would have come up with some great off-hand joke about it and gone on about his business. The joke would be something that Kerry, if he could laugh at himself, would be able to take in stride. But since he CAN'T, he would have been outraged, along with his comsymp buddies on the left.

by the way who goes to a viewing like that without their wife? Maybe she has more class than he and saw it was wrong. I doubt it but I will give her the benefit of the doubt.

I thought the same as you concerning Teresa. Afterall, she was married to a Republican senator for a very long time and thus Reagan was also part of her life. I'd prefer to think she was being sensible and considerate of Mrs. Reagan and not wanting to look in any way like she was grandstanding for her husband.

Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) gives the thumbs-up to the media as he leaves the Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif., Tuesday, June 8, 2004. Kerry visited the casket containing the remains of President Ronald Reagan.(AP Photo/Ric Francis) Posted at 5:16 EDT.

This is one of those "a picture is worth a thousand words" moments. It screams that Kerry is a classless act.

Hey, I'm surprised he didn't put his cheek on the casket for his cameraman. Nothing is beyond this publicity hound with two tin ears for what civilized people think of his actions.

Believe me, I am in no way defending this traitor, but I saw televised pictures of all sorts of folks passing by the casket yesterday. Did the family authorize the television cameras?

C-Span cameras were allowed to televise. No other cameras -- digital or otherwise -- were allowed in the library. Period.

Did the family authorize the television cameras?

Nancy Reagan specifically authorized a C-SPAN camera and requested no others be allowed.
