Yesterday I read that his campaign team was VERY concerned about this move but he insisted.
As far as HOW he got in there, I imagine he came breezing up with his posse and if anyone had the nerve to say anything, barked "I'm a UNITED STATES SENATOR," and waltzed on in anyway.

Listen, his campagne team is just a front for his actions. There is always an excuse. He wouldn't have pulled off this stunt if they felt that it would hurt him.
