"Indecent Exposure"

John Kerry political cartoon.

June 9, 2004...

Kerry photo-ops Reagan casket

Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry showed up at the Reagan Library on Tuesday afternoon to view the deceased former president’s casket, setting off a firestorm of reaction.

·        At issue: The need for a Kerry visit to the Reagan Library in California. As reported by Rush Limbaugh, a Kerry spokesperson had already announced Kerry would attend the State Funeral for Reagan on Friday in Washington, D.C.

·        At issue: The photographer accompanying Kerry into the Reagan Library. Clear guidelines (handed out to everyone prior to entering the library to view Reagan’s casket) state: “Absolutely no photography will be allowed inside the Library.” A photographer entered slightly ahead of Kerry and took pictures of Kerry while he was there. These pictures were posted as ‘Associated Press’ photos on YahooNews news 30 minutes after Kerry’s visit. [see photo below]

·        At issue: The timing of the Kerry visit to the Reagan Library in California. Dignitaries could view the casket at the Reagan Library in California before the general public or after the general public; or in Washington, D.C. during the time set aside for the other government big wigs to attend. California Governor and Mrs. Schwarzenegger were in attendance during regular public viewing hours at the personal request of Mrs. Reagan – who did not take Kerry’s personal phone call to her, and did not issue an invitation to Kerry.

I fully expect him to be in the group of anti-war protesters at the Rep convention in NYC. Didn't really believe he would suspend his campaigning for a week, did we?

Heard Clinton is unhappy that he will not be speaking at the services. These people are just totally unreal.

Thanks for the ping! Excellent truth in 'tooning, Linda! You see, all those rules are just for the "little people", and not photo-op Kerry, who generally has photos of himself in front of Christian crosses. It's all just an illusion; that he is a believer, that he is a caring person to attend the funeral of a man he despised.

I am more outraged by the second by this classless vermin, and I am surprised that even the dim Dims have put this wholly unlikeable guy up as their candidate.

Kerry's and Clinton's race to the bottom for the "most shameful act in a political year" contest is close.

Kerry gains points for using the death of a great man as a publicity stunt while Clinton lags with his crashing a funeral bit. The contest still too close to call, winner to be announced soon.

Aside from the tastlessnes of this staged photo-op....it shows that the Kerry campaign is in trouble..it doesn't have a sense of "what's right"..that it is floundering..trying to find its own rhythm...

How did that steaming piece of Donkey extrement get to bypass everyone else that was waiting 12 hours in line?

Better that, than having him wait hours in line (with his SS entourage, photogs, and hangers-on).

I don't begrudge him that.

Would YOU want to spend hours in line with that mess right behind you?

"it shows that the Kerry campaign is in trouble..it doesn't have a sense of "what's right"

Yes, I keep wondering who in the Kerry campaign would have advised him to do this yesterday. Photo-op scamming seems incredibly stoopid.

and the other quote this week, from the Kerry staffer who worried about the impact of Reagan's death...what was so stupid was NOT that the guy had these thoughts..heck , that's normal..it's that he would publcly admit them to the media..

I didnt know that Mrs. Reagan had refused his phone call. Can you imagine the nerve of this butthead trying to call a grieving First Lady to set up a photo-op, having his call refused and going for it anyway?

There are no adequate words to describe this moron, and by the way who goes to a viewing like that without their wife?
Maybe she has more class than he and saw it was wrong. I doubt it but I will give her the benefit of the doubt.

It says on Fox news that he was there for 20 minutes and that he cut ahead of everybody. I mean what else was he doing if he was there for 20 minutes but taking photos? I like the look of the guy to his right in the white shirt ha ha! I can just imagine what he`s thinking....

Why didn't Kerry have to wait like other people? How disgusting of him to use it for a photo-op.
