LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The death of former President Reagan has prompted a one-week delay for the release of a Bill Clinton documentary based on the best seller "The Hunting of the President."The movie had been scheduled for release Friday, but Regent Entertainment postponed it until June 18. The movie's red-carpet premiere in New York City also was put off from Wednesday to June 16.
"Our film celebrates the presidency and is a film all about respect for the presidency," Paul Colichman, a partner in Regent, said Tuesday. "We decided it was wholly inappropriate during a week of mourning in the country for a much-beloved president to be having a celebration."
Based on Joe Conason and Gene Lyons' book "The Hunting of the President: The Ten-Year Campaign to Destroy Bill and Hillary Clinton," the movie examines what the authors characterized as a right-wing vendetta to ruin Clinton.
The film was directed by longtime Clinton friend Harry Thomason and Nickolas Perry.
"The Hunting of the President" initially will play in New York City and in Little Rock, Ark., where Clinton served as governor. The movie eventually will play in about 30 other markets, Colichman said.
The Kerry campaign must be thrilled about this delay. Not.
Let it not go unsaid that producer Harry Thomason did not lose out the opportunity to appear on FNC last night to announce that the documentary would be put off for a week. He said that this was since his movie was about "a president" and a president died......he didn't feel that it would be appropriate.
BWAHAHAHHAA!
Respect? Clinton Presidency? No way.
I see the AP got the movie's title wrong. Should be:
"The Piece of Tail-Hunting of the President"
When is the DNC meeting in Boston? mid-June? HA!
Damn skippy! Even mentioning Clinton this week should be illegal.
Poor Bill. Poor J effin'K.
Don`t tell me another "Michael Moore" type movie is coming out, but this time to freggin` excuse Clinton? Oh maaan, pleeeease God, I wish I was in film. The "right wing conspiracy"...Yeah, here is President Clinton committing perjury on television in front of millions of people...Any questions? Here is a woman named Juanita Brodderick who is all but ignored by the media. Any questions? Here is Hillary with her fingerprints all over 900 FBI files, something HR Haldeman went to jail for after being found with just one, any questions? Here is Larry Lawrence being dug up in Arlington cemetary after it was learned he never served a day in the military but donated alot of money to the Clintons, any questions? Here is Wayne Dumont who was castrated by the Clintoon mafia after being accused of raping Clintons niece, something it was proven later on he never did, any questions? Here is Waco, here is Elian Gonzales, here is travel gate, China gate, here is whitewater, here is Paula gate, gate gate gate...Yeah all a right wing conspiracy. Maybe they should show this movie on that old Lenard Nimoy program "In search of" along with all the other myth shows about bigfoot the Loch Ness monster and UFO`s.
First of all, this movie is NOT a documentary. It is a ficticious "right-wing conspiracy" THEORY put on film. But, as usual, Dems will take it as the Gosple of their God.
Secondly, I think their use of words (excuse) for not airing it Friday were well chosen, but absolutely no one, not even the Dems are buying that it was REALLY delayed for any other reason than it wouldn't get any viewing audience with everyone focused on Reagan.
Think we're s t u p i d ????? well yep.

Unfortunately, yes. I have a copy of the book too.
Why delay? If Clinton is more popular than Reagan I'm sure interest being attended to President Reagan's funeral will pale among the public when ranked against this historical documentary.
Harry Z. Thomason, (born 1940), is an American film and television producer and director best known for his television series Designing Women. Thomason and his wife Linda Bloodworth-Thomason were friends of President Bill Clinton and played a major role in his election campaigns.
Harry Z. Thomason was born in Hampton, Arkansas, the son of a Baptist Deacon. He was a Little Rock, Arkansas high school speech teacher and football coach.
In 1983 Thomason and his wife formed Mozark Productions which was the vehicle for several successful television series including Designing Women and Evening Shade.
Thomason was a close friend of Bill Clinton and produced the glowing biographical film The Man from Hope which was the centerpiece of the 1992 Democratic National Convention. Thomason and his partner Darnell Martens provided charter air service for the Clinton campaign and served as an image consultant.
After Clinton was elected Thomason became embroiled in the Travelgate scandal. His partner Martens reported that he had heard rumors that the White House Travel Office was corrupt and disloyal to the Clintons. This view of the Travel Office was compounded by a series of leaks at the White House unfavorable to the Clintons. Thomason began pressing Hillary Clinton to clean out the travel office. The resulting firings resulted in a great deal of negative press coverage and an investigation of the events surrounding it including Thomason and Martens' air service.
Thomason served as co-chairmen of the 1992 Presidential Inauguration Committee and once again worked as an image consultant at the beginning of the Lewinsky scandal. Thomason ended up testifying before the Lewinsky Grand Jury.
Isn't this like going from the Penthouse to the Outhouse?
What documentary?! A book's not enough, now we have a documentary sucking O2 out of the room?
Then it certainly can't be about Clinton. The word respect should never be associated with anyone so unrespectable.
"The Sock Puppets Go Hollywood"
Weren't the thomasons also involved in bj's "spontaneous" town hall meetings that were found out to be staged?
I saw a post earlier that clinton will be doing a town-hall style radio show (scripted by harry?).
With bj's book about to be released, a movie put out by his pals, another staged question and answer town hall event during an election year-with harry thomason involved...somethin' is definitely up.
