Idiots. The only popularity poll that matters for a President is the election. Compare the numbers and anyone with an ounce of sense will see that Reagan was MUCH, MUCH more popular than the toon.
He never won so much as a majority of the vote.
Orders of magnitude more popular as this week's outpouring attests.

"As president, [he] was never even as popular as Bill Clinton during the period of Clintons impeachment," argues the disgruntled Democrat. Rave on witless drone, Reagan won 49, that's 49 states in 1984. Clinton will be remembered as a clown and his policies will be best left on the ash-heap of history.

Is that because he stared in porn and rape films?
And President Reagan only stared in decent films?

The crowds at Reagan's casket show what a popular and well loved man he was.
When Clinton dies the crowds at his casket will be those wanting to make damn sure he's dead.

Does Altergirl think hundreds of thousands are going to spens 10-12 hours on line to honor the Bent One on his demise? Even he can't be that delusional.
The only people lining up for the Sink Emperor will be saying: "Hey, he owed me money."

I said on an earlier thread that these Clinton apologists are really scraping the bottom of the barrel when they use some idiotic "approval ratings" in place of actual election results.
I'm sure Eric Alterman believes that Bill Clinton was a greater president than George Washington because Clinton got 370 electoral votes in 1992 and Washington only got 69 in 1789.

Frustrated liberals... are now claiming that Bill Clinton was actually a more popular president than Ronald Reagan. Yeah. And Germans thought that Adolph Hitler was much more popular than Otto von Bismark. But years later you couldn't find many people who admitted supporting der Fuerher.

I propose an experimental test. Let's have Clinton die, and we can compare the relative outpouring of grief, side-by-side.

This Just In.....Clinton more popular with democrats than with Republicans! When clinton passes away I will be more than happy to watch his funeral.

An angry CLINTON has been shut out from speaking at REAGAN's Memorial Service in Washington, D.C.
A quiet CARTER has also.
A passed on REAGAN1 will re-elect BUSH2 in 2004
A breathing CLINTON couldn't even re-elect AL GORE in 2000.

Californians are waiting in line almost 8 hours to get a few minutes to view Reagan's casket.
I would not wait more than an hour in line to see Clinton's casket..........
even if I could spit on it.

"In fact, no president in U.S. history has ever gotten more votes than Reagan did in 1984, despite the fact that the nation's population has grown by more than 30 million in the last twenty years." Aw gee, there goes those pesky conservatives once again, using things like "facts" in a debate.
I didn't know this, by the way. Pretty impressive.
