Losing a parent is an experience that has no comparisonAin't that the truth. Made me realize the difference between crying and wailing.
What a nice article she wrote, thanks for posting it.

Good for her. I'm so glad that she made peace with her parents. Life is too short.

Beautiful... Interesting how we are born to people that we swear are not the right ones for us. But yet they are.

Thanks for the ping Howl...I've been offline all weekend, but watching all of the tribute coverage on Pres. Regan.
Not only was he probably the most inspirational, prolific President we have ever had, but even tho I was young, his speeches were the most profound, uplifting and inspiring I will ever hear in my lifetime.
God bless him, may he rest eternally.
The love he shared with Nancy was like no other...I envy her. God love her.

What a wonderful tribute to her father.....she calls him a "shy man" and that makes me think his introspective nature (often a trait of shy people) was part of the reason he could be the giant (in ideas and motivations) he was.

Very touching. I have always had special thoughts for Patti. She's sort of like the prodigal child, but only in a way. Isn't funny how liberals generally produce children who are carbon copy robots of their own ideas, but conservatives produce kids that think freely for themselves, who generally come to realize the truth on their own.
We are going to be hearing more from Patti. We may not always agree with her, but I think she will be writing and speaking from the heart. If anyone can communicate with her, tell he her dad wants her to be true to her calling, but I bet she already knows that.
Gob bless you Patti, and all your family.

I had a 15 year feud with my aunt. I chose last year to reach across the abyss, before it was too late, and bury the hatchet. Patti did too - just in time as it turned out. Time is precious. It was a very personal and moving article, which touched me.

I let go of his hand for too long, pushed it away, before finally grasping it again, trusting that even in his dying, I would find new life.Dang blurry monitor!
I'm so glad she was reconciled with her family before it was too late, and she couldn't reach her father.
