I am so thankful that Ron and Patty are close to their mother again.

Martha on Fox is repeating the 23rd Psalm like it is original to this funeral.

We will get through this with dignity DESPITE the media.

I think she thinks this is "her" last time alone with him now that she's letting the public close

I agree

"Perhaps knowing the cameras were on them they were better able to keep it together, however."

That is a good thought. I think it would help me.

Most moving ceremony. It makes me feel better to watch it, even tho' my eyes teared over and I feel sad that Ronald Reagan is gone. The minister's reading of the 23rd Psalm surely gave the family a sense of peace.

It seems like the price of public service demands that the family hold in their emotions, because they're under the eye of the camera. As with British royalty, you have to show a stiff upper lip, no emotion.

I am glad they allowed the public viewing of this really rather private moment!

My grandparents belonged to a pentacostal norwegian church in New Haven, CT.

White is most certainly an appropriate color for morning if you truly believe in life after death. In their church, death was a time of celebration as the deceased had moved on to a better place.

As far as skirt length, Patti was always a bit of a rebel. I've been to too many funeral services where much worse has been worn. I really woudn't be surprised if this was hardest on Patti. It always is on the child whom has given the parent the most grief in life.

I was just thinking.. Ron Jr. looks very spiffy. He's dressed awesomely and his demeanor and presence is letter-perfect.

Perhaps Nancy & family wanted to share everything with viewers? I don't know. For me it's so hard to keep from weeping. I will remember forever Nancy bidding Ron farewell... she is a truly classy First Lady.

I know...Michael seemed to be excluded somehow.

He loved his father so much; if those other kids are excluding him somehow, their father would not have approved.

The media is already starting to bring up the fact that Nancy is for embryonic stem cell research while President Bush is not..I knew that was coming. Always trying to find a wedge. Even this week they cannot shut their evil mouths.

Well to be fair, they did have their private time at the funeral home. He's been gone since Saturday. Maybe they're just letting us in for our benefit.

Fox News coverage is very respectful of Reagan and his legacy. I can't watch any other channel's coverage of this issue (except when Joe Scarborough is on for MSNBC), because they always inject politics into the coverage.
