In June of 1987, we visited high school friends who lived outside of Washington. The husband was a uniformed secret service agent and invited our family to come watch the President and Mrs. Reagan depart from the south lawn for Camp David. Very special memory and one we'll never forget.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about this.
Tie the Strings to my Life, My Lord,
Then, I am ready to go!
Just a look at the Horses
Rapid! That will do!
Put me in on the firmest side
So I shall never fall
For we must ride to the Judgment
And it's partly, down Hill.
But never I mind the steeper
And never I mind the Sea
Held fast in Everlasting Race
By my own Choice, and Thee.
Goodbye to the Life I used to live
And the World I used to know
And kiss the Hills, for me, just once
Then -- I am ready to go!
~ Emily Dickinson
Goodbye Mr. President. May God forever bless you.

Yes. We have. But fuqua, without ever once worrying about his 'legacy', this good man has left us such a windfall of direction and vision. Ronald Reagan will NEVER have to be concerned (like a certain someone too yucky to mention here) about his legacy. Because he never was. He was concerned with America, her course in this world and her security at home.
He knew the meaning of IS as well as the meaning of 'oath'.
To: Jemian
Amen. The class and dignity of those who occupy our white house will honor this man's life.
I am anxious to hear the first President Bush's statement.

"Then there will be a memorial service at the National Cathedral, after which RR will be flown back to California for a sunset interment at the RR Library."
I pulled this picture off my wall from the dedication of the RR Library. My late father always admired it and said "Regan would never pose with Clinton".

God bless him and his family. He and my late father can visit with each other now.

I am eager to hear Pres. Bush's statements as well - I think I'm going to need another box of kleenex, though.
