ABC just announced :( Ronald Reagan was 93
sobor = sober, but you get it, right?
Knowing that, it still doesn't make it any easier to let him go.
All humanity is of one Author, and is one volume; when one dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated; God employs several translators; some pieces are translated by age, some by sickness, some by war, some by justice; but Gods hand is in every translation, and his hand shall bind up all our scattered leaves again for that library where every book shall lie open to one another.
-- JOHN DONNE (15721631)
To know that someone loves you that much gives a person the confidence to attain great things, for even if you fall you know the other one is always there to catch you.It is a wonderful thing to have.
"...this love affair between him and Nancy has always bothered me..."
I'm sorry that you've never been in love enough with amyone to know that feeling.
FWIW...why would you come in here and make disparaging remarks like that and try to throw cold water on this thread with your coments?
Me too. Can we share in his memory of life and accomplishment without dredging up trash (as most leftists do regularly to ensure there will be no icons of conservatism)?
"Oh please bann me for being impolite for introducing subjects of a poltiical nature...instead of a eulogy."
I hope Admin Moderator grants your wish...quickly!
I was doing OK until you said that. Now I'm crying.
Yes, thank you Mr. President!
I think that the worst thing for Nancy, was not seeing in her Ronnie's face a mirror of her own expressions of love. When that stopped, it must have been like a light going off.
I hope you're right, though.
My parents passed away 6 months apart, so I understand what you mean about your grandparents. I truly hope that Nancy can *live* the rest of her life. This will be some difficult period of adjustment for her, because he won't be there for her to care for, anymore. God bless her.
FNC is talking about what is named after RWR.
What has happened with Ronald W. Reagan University?
A conservative University with his name would obtain instant credibility and abe a threat to the leftist elitists of the university "system".
It would also provide his legacy for generations.
This is the worlds loss and heaven's gain. He rests now in the Everlasting Arms
Prairie
He's the greatest president in ANY of our lifetimes. No body is old enough to have lived under a better one.
I can't wait to hear what Rush has to say on this on Monday.
It's going to be one of those roll the tape moments.
Wouldn't it be fitting if one of the biggest supporters of Pres. Reagan could deliver the eulogy.
Well said.
Ronald Reagan was so humble and unassuming, I bet he would be embarrassed by all the fuss.
I am just glad he will be stealing the limelight from Kerry's campaign for a week.
CNN and CBS have been just hateful all afternoon. They are grousing and being most negative--probably because Reagan, even in death, outshines their beloved candidate.
wow, lets not forget about Nancy. She loved him as much as he loved her. While we rightly focus on the man, lets not forget about the wife. (a presidential love story)
Sure, as you wish. I would like it on record that I did NOT hit abuse. Apparently someone else did.
I was taking your side but you've earned yourself a suspension instead.
Yep, the media is being small and awful.
And they make a giant of a man even look large by comparison--talk about a total self defeating marathon of bias.
"What has happened with Ronald W. Reagan University?
I believe Nancy objected for some reason. I thought I heard something to the effect that while RWR was alive the Planners couldn't move forward with the idea without Nancy's approval.
