My prayers are with the Reagan family Even though they may have felt they were prepared for the death of their father, nothing really can prepare you for the empty hole that is left in your heart when you lose your dad.

I believe the connection with a father and child is so precious and spiritually connected that when it happens only Jesus can fill the void that is left. President Ronald Reagan was like a dad to so many... I pray Jesus fills the void quickly.

I don't know if this was posted before, but the Reagan Library website has a condolence book that will be given to Mrs. Reagan and the family:

My heart is really broken for Nancy. They were so crazy in love with each other.

as for me- i just hope they bury him within chucking range of a paper bag full of dogshit from the closest public access... well...i got a joy, joy, joy, joy....down in my heart...down in my heart...i got a joy, joy, joy, joy....down in my heart to stay!

I saw this on DU (DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND). These DEMON-RATS and DHIMMICRATS should be underground - ten feet under as during a PLAGUE.

I recall the rantings of a college professor who wished for "a million Mogadishus" on American troops in Iraq.

Ronald Reagan gave new life and inspiration to conservatives. But the "tolerant" and "live-loving" liberals will have nothing of it. They do not want to live and let live. They do not want to live in peace DESPITE their phony posturings as "peace activists." They do not want to let us live at all!

In their eyes, one less "conservative," especially one who was so prominent, active and pioneering, and so authentically HUMAN in the best sense of the word despite the liberals' stereotyping of conservatives as troglodytes and genetic throwbacks, is cause for celebration. They are almost subhuman in their savage hatred of anyone and anything that stands in the way of their God-forsaken, progressive, utopian, drug-induced "vision of a better society."

It's time to give these liberal slimeballs far more than they bargained for!

Exactly, I wish I had thought to pen this eloquent line.

Perhaps in a way the long twilight of Alzheimer's was a bitter mercy, but a mercy, for two people so deeply in love. Perhaps Mrs. Reagan was able to disentangle herself a little bit as President Reagan slowly faded away, to be better able to patiently wait until they are reunited at last.

I do pray for her to have strength not to miss him too much. My grandparents were very much in love, childhood sweethearts who grew up around the corner from each other, hardly ever apart, and when my grandmother died part of my grandfather died too. I think part of his slipping away into Alzheimer's may have been from loneliness.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you President Reagan for making this world a better place to raise my children, and my most grateful and solemn sympathies to Mrs. Reagan and family all. God Bless You!

I see your rage.. and it is valid.

Let us trust our God to be the one who will level the playing field.

Sleep well friend, knowing that Pres. Reagan is safe, happy & in the arms of OUR Lord.

Find peace in praying yourself to sleep for the "peace that passeth all understanding."

God loves us all more than we will ever know.

I'll take your word for it about DU, not wanting to be brainwashed over there myself. OTOH on the Baltimore Sun's mb the Gipper's passing is being marked in subdued manner by whatever detractors are contributing to that thread.

I voted for him both times and don't regret it a bit. In fact I saw him in person on the stump in Oct. 1984 in front of the courthouse in Media, PA. There he was in a brown suit with Gov. Dick Thornburgh and (wince) Sen. Arlen Magicbullet. He had flown in from Millersville, PA that morning on Marine One, which flew over the courthouse at around noon time and deposited him on a ballfield about a mile away. The Springfield, Upper Darby and Penncrest HS bands were there, and I even remember the time he was introduced: 1:02pm.

Ronnie, someday I will meet you in that shining city on the hill.

I was in the 6th grade when President Reagan was elected and I remember watching it on TV. His second election is what got me interested in politics and his legacy is what has kept me interested in it ever since.

I was in Kuwait in 1994 when the announcement was made that he had Alzheimers.

The world has lost a giant today.

God Bless you Mr. Reagan. Despite a couple rough patches over the last few years, it is STILL, morning in America!

Isn't it ironic that President Reagan passed away today, June 5th, doesn't it seem just like him to take his leave from this life one day before we honor those who have given their all for our country in battle. He would want us to focus on those patriots tomorrow and give them the honor they deserve. He loved our country and had deep respect for those who served their country valiantly and without reservation gave their lives for our freedom.

We honor you President Reagan and we honor our veterans, and active duty personnel, and those who gave their lives so that we might be free.

I have not, and it leaves me envious of their love. Can you imagine having another person love you that much?

Well , all I can say is that I grew up in a very conservative family in Georgia . Mom & Pop taught us well .

Well, I'm doing my part to make up for my error. I'm raising four conservative children. So far, so good...the 11, 14 and 17 year olds are conservatives and understand what that means. Just a seven year old left to go...
