I don't know if this was posted before, but the Reagan Library website has a condolence book that will be given to Mrs. Reagan and the family:

My heart is really broken for Nancy. They were so crazy in love with each other.

Perhaps in a way the long twilight of Alzheimer's was a bitter mercy, but a mercy, for two people so deeply in love. Perhaps Mrs. Reagan was able to disentangle herself a little bit as President Reagan slowly faded away, to be better able to patiently wait until they are reunited at last.

I do pray for her to have strength not to miss him too much. My grandparents were very much in love, childhood sweethearts who grew up around the corner from each other, hardly ever apart, and when my grandmother died part of my grandfather died too. I think part of his slipping away into Alzheimer's may have been from loneliness.
