On Fox now, Bruce Hersenchorn (sp) reminding Brit that when the hostages were released in Iran, Reagan apponted Carter to be the US emissary. A kind and generous gesture, one which we would not ever see from the Rats.

Reagan was a wonderful romantic.
Something that many men cannot master. Many of us feel it is a gift.
I think perhaps you do not understand romanticism and what it does for a marriage. But so few ever experience it, so it is not surprising.
It is very much a gift.

her hideiousness better not appear or she will get another NY greeting as she did after 9/11.
They just said the world what Reagan would do. The Iranians did not fear Carter. I am willing to bet nooooobody fears what kerry would do.
Reagan IS a shining example what leadership MUST be.

Your post is ill-timed. I think you're the one with the juvenile problem - but I guess I'm giving you the attention you seem to be begging for.

It might make you feel a little better to turn on Fox News and see all the crowds gathering to honor president Reagan- I'm talking a big crowd.
Amamzing considering this is taking place in Santa Monica California

I wonder if the security is going to allow the flowers to be accumulated under/by the fountain.

My humble thoughts on a great American who had THE VISION.
I feel privileged to have worked for your election and re-election in the '80s. I was a building captain in NYC for you...put flyers under apartment doors. Thanks for the chance to work with you. You were the greatest.

Well, since we are not in a funeral home, I will say what I think.

Thanks! I was just looking for some commentary on his life, but the networks are probably too busy attending their celebration parties. Thanks anyway for the info!:)

Ronald Reagan defined "The Presidency" for me. With all due respect to our current President, I doubt there has been better in the recent past.
God Bless his family in this time.
To: Merdoug
I turned on the TV a minute ago and none of the networks is carrying anything about the funeral (I don't have cable). I guess it was too much to ask of them to show it. FNC mentioned that his body was brought to the funeral home to be prepared for burial .. it is presumed that he will then be sent to the Regan library before being flown to DC for 2 days and then back to CA for a burial on Thurday.

I doubt he would be offended. He probably holds the same opinion.

Clinton already said they are going. I think they are too small and vicious to attend. I hope they don't get booed--I think ignoring them would be the way to go. We shouldn't do to them what the Dems did to Lott at the Wellstone memorial. Let them be clasless, they're good at that!
To: FourtySeven
Enjoy Heaven Mr. President, you earned it!!
God Bless Ronald Reagan and the United States of America!

I am cable-less for now. I just caught the end of a CBS special report on the life of Ronald Reagan, and Dan RatherBiased was actually tearing up.

Merdoug, to help you and others, I posted this thread in breaking news:
Reagan Presidential Library Memorial Website. You can go there to send condolences to the Reagan family, to read other tributes, get funeral info, etc.
