"OUR GOVERNOR can beat up YOUR CANDIDATE!" - FRN to protest "Stars for Kerry" concert in Los Angeles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Conservatives to protest "Stars for Kerry" concert in Los Angeles

Los Angeles - Members of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Free Republic Network (also known as the "Hollywood Resistance Force") plan to join other local supporters of President Bush on MONDAY, June 7 at 6 p.m., as they protest the appearance of Barbra Streisand, Willie Nelson, Billy Crystal and Neil Diamond at a million-dollar fundraiser for John Kerry at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Carrying large signs that say "OUR GOVERNOR can beat up YOUR CANDIDATE!" and "Only FOREIGN LEADERS (and Hollywood "Has Beens") like John Kerry," they intend to challenge the conventional wisdom that California is a "lost cause" for President Bush this fall.

"We support President Bush," says L.A. FRN Chapter Vice President Ron Smith, "and we believe that Governor Schwarzenegger's proven ability to energize Californians to recall Gray Davis last year will insure that we also 'terminate' John Kerry this year."

By harnessing the power of the Internet, the Free Republic Forum (FreeRepublic.com) gave birth to a new level of grassroots activism that demonstrates how dedicated citizens can effect change by awakening and mobilizing the vast numbers of Americans who still support the rule of law. The Free Republic Network (FreeRepublic.net) organizes, educates, and supports grassroots activists and connects national organizations with grassroots groups and activists across the country that share their common goals and beliefs.

For more information, contact Ron Smith at (310) 416-9155 or ronsmith@quixnet.net

Note: The opinions of members of the Free Republic Network do not necessarily represent those of the management or staff of the conservative news forum FreeRepublic.com, the Republican Party, or Bush/Cheney '04 - although, as Rush says, they SHOULD. :o)

From the OTHER thread, that would be THESE large signs:

OUR
GOVERNOR
CAN
BEAT UP
YOUR
WIMPY
CANDIDATE!

and:

ONLY
"FOREIGN"
LEADERS

AND
HOLLYWOOD
"HAS BEENS"

LIKE
JOHN KERRY

What do YOU think?

Do you have any OTHER ideas?

It is rare to see the conservatives out there fighting for
their party. It is a sign that conservatives are beginning
to fight back for the lies told by the dems.
I hope there is a good number of them out there, it is time
the Hollywood dems take the heat.

Is it O.K. to send this out as a press release?

...I also picked up my Kerry concert ticket today (* scan above courtesy of Arthur) - the letter with the ticket says the secret service has closed the underground parking garage under the arena that night, so all attendees have to park in other lots.

The show will be starting later than the posted time due to the security concerns - curtain up at 8:30pm...

Diamond and Streisand to sing
Randy Lewis

May 15 2004

Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond will be on the same stage next month for the first time since Jimmy Carter was president for a concert in Los Angeles to raise money for another Democrat: presidential hopeful Sen. John F. Kerry.

Streisand and Diamond, who topped the pop charts in 1978 with their duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," will be joined June 7 at Walt Disney Concert Hall by Willie Nelson, Billy Crystal and other entertainers. Streisand and Diamond will perform separately, but organizers say they are discussing singing "Flowers" together at the event.

Tickets are $2,000 for only the concert.
Tickets that include the concert and dinner with the candidate are $10,000 and $25,000 per couple and on sale through Kerry's L.A. campaign office at (310) 556-9172, Ext. 106...

Wow.
It sounds like they will be serving some VERY expensive ketchup. :o)

Actually, I think that we have a EXCELLENT chance to break through into the "mainstream media" with this FReep.
The concept of "Governor Ah-nuld - the TERMINATOR" vs. the "Barbra, Neil, Willie, Billy (and John) - the Hollywood HAS BEENS..."
...battling for the soul of California could make for some compelling TV images, one hopes. :o)
