The feminist agenda has succeeded with me. I no longer open doors, hold chairs or any of the other things I used to do. I've even stopped lighting cigarettes for women. Nor do I try to date (not worth the effort or expense). I have been told "I can open my own door" etc. too many times. So why bother?
I sincerely hope you're wearing body armor...you're gonna get it...
Women LOVE to have the doors opened for them and all the rest of it. Don't let any witchy, immature teeny bopper tell you differently.
Come to suburban Middle America. When the young gals in my office complain about impolite males in the big city, I tell them they are looking for dates in the wrong places. I go to the local post office about twice a day and someone ALWAYS opens the door for me! I've had the door opened by 80 year olds and 16 year olds and everything in between! And I return the favor whenever possible. It's always a smile and a "good morning" and a "thank you" and a "have a nice day."
Really!
Because it pisses them off, while not depriving those of us who appreciate such gestures. Any man who holds a door for me gets a big smile and a "thank you!"
I do those things still. With a smile. It's been many, many years since I've heard that remark.
Bump. Me either - except for my wife and my Mom. They're the only ones who acknowledge the courtesy.
Yep. Once I know a woman, and figure out that she not only won't object, but appreciates it, I'll do these things. But a stranger? Too easy to garner dirty looks as it is.
Why give up, Stumpy? Seriously, all that means is you've been whipped by the radical feminazis. If nothing else, do it because it pisses them off! One day you'll meet some woman who says "Thank you" and means it. Maybe she'll be unmarried, or maybe someones grandmother, but at least she will appreciate your actions.
Maybe it's because I grew up in the midwest, but I've always appreciated it when a man opened doors, and since I became aware of the feminazis, I always say "thanks!". I'm one of the lucky women here--I waited until 35 to wed for the 1st, last & only time, and God saw fit to bring me not only to Himself, but to my soulmate. Maybe you would find youself among a more like-minded set of men & women if you joined a solid church/temple/mosque (whatever your nominal religion is). God did not intend for Man to be alone, and prefers Man to be with Woman in a married relationship (see Genesis for clarification). So if you want to have some mental fun, just remind yourself that the radical feminazis are nothing more than the agents of Satan...
I have never seen a woman upset that a man opened the door for her. At least by me.
