OPEN LETTER TO AMERICAN FEMINISTS
my angry self | 04 June 2004 | me

Posted on 06/04/2004 12:43:30 PM PDT by cyborg

Dear American Feminists,

I am a thirty year old woman living in the United States and have been studying what is known as 'the women's movement'. I've read some of your books especially those written by Gloria Steinem and other famous women's rights advocates. Reading these books I hoped to gain some insight into the movement that my fellow conservatives railed against. I sought to find out why Rush Limbaugh takes such obvious delight in calling all of you feminazis.

I disagreed with the goals of the feminists such as abortion rights, putting career ahead of family and so on. I thought it would be easy for me to go on with my life and allow you to go promoting feminist causes. After all, this is America and I don't spend my time telling other people how to behave and what to think. However, I did not realize the impact that the feminist movement had in the lives of men and women in this country till I started dating (if it can be called such).

I hope you are happy with yourselves. You've made it possible for more girls to enter spinsterhood than ever before all the while going psychotic and starving ourselves to death into an early grave besides. The biblical verse (I know you hate christianity but please excuse me) that states 'what does it profit a man if he gains the world and loses his soul' comes to mind. What does it matter if I'm rich with a great career, my own car, a healthy 'sex life' and nice clothes if I'm alone when I'm eighty rocking myself to sleep in a dirty nursing home all alone with no grandchildren? Perhaps you don't care that many men cringe at the idea of getting married because you don't care for the institution of getting married yourselves. Perhaps not having children doesn't bother you because you're too busy advocating the murder of children in the womb.

You talk about us women embracing our 'real bodies' and 'our fat womyn' BUT what do you feminists fill your magazines with? It's not 'real womyn' that is for sure. You peddle independent womanhood in the form of acting like a slut, dressing like a slut and having women portrayed as black widows. You champion little girls wearing g-strings and playing rainbow braclet gamwes while condemning girls who save themselves for marriage, or girls who are celibate and dress modestly as 'old fashioned' and 'out of touch'.

My thirtieth birthday came and went, and so far I've learned that many men don't respect women. A married man will go over land sea and tell all kinds of lies to get sex from a girl. I've also learned that trying to attract the attentions of man already burned once by a 'independent woman' is a fruitless effort and these men don't go through half the trouble single men or married men do to use a girl sexually. They do no think we women are worth it. I wonder how many girls will learn about your lies the hard way? How many girls will have a mother like mine to listen to the whining and frustration then only to say, 'see? You need to church and get right with God.' not mothers who are interested in being their best buddies and further encourage promiscuity.

Many young men don't even want to get married but instead wait for those women willing to have casual sex with them. You taught these girls that having unattached sex is the mark of a proud, independent woman like Sex in the City for instance. You trash Jessica Simpson for being a brainless idiot but we BOTH know why you really trash her and don't trash Britney Spears. Frustrated fathers raise sons and tell them never to get married. What are girls like me supposed to do? Or is my choice to want to be a wife and mother not as vaunted as having abortions or group sex on MTV? Bring up marriage and children to a single man these days, and a girl will find herself all alone on a Saturday night. So what's a girl to do? Don't bother answering feminists. American culture has had enough of your answers. Your well intentioned moral boondoggles have hurt women more than you will ever realize. Let's hope you don't spread your false gospel elsewhere.

Thank you for your time.

I LOVE that book. It's hard to stick to all of them but I like what's in the book. I like Dr. Laura's book Care and Feeding of Husbands.

Didn't that Ellen Fein woman wind up getting divorced? Ditto for her partner.

I don't know if taking their advice is such a hot idea.

It's the romantic equivalent of relying on the advice of Michael Milken to help you dodge investigators from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

I've never heard that but things happen I guess. Most of the books is the same stuff my mother used to tell me. Don't call guys up, don't pay for dinner, and don't take gifts from men, etc.

Here: There are things I will not compromise now.

Your Home Page: I feel it is my duty to wear clingier clothing, flirt more outrageously, have more orgasms, and get on top more often.

Hmm. Based on posts 52 and 88, you might have started a matchmaking thread. Maybe FR needs a category just for that..

The feminist movement, the lawyers, the insurance companies, the multiculturalists, and the pharmaceuticals have indeed wrecked this society. But all is not lost.

A few years back at the height of the sexual harassment craze, I was charged with SH by a nasty woman I had run afoul of in my workplace. I had reported her poor work habits and she got disciplined. She then threatened to get me and filed SH, saying I had kissed her on the cheek the previous Christmas. (I did...) But they still violated the snot out of my civil rights to run me through this draconian process, though I was cleared at the first level of investigation.

Nobody does docudramas on men who are falsely accused. Nobody cares. But get this, when telling my story in the years that have followed, women tend to believe me to have been innocent, while men think I must have done something wrong to get accused in the first place.

On the marriage topic, I have four healthy, grown kids and all are paired up. Even my cosmopolitan liberal daughter has a fellow. I've been married to the same glorious woman for 27 years. It can still happen. Even today.

I looked up that statement. It was a facetious slap at Islamofascists.

She pretty much hit the nail on the head WRT why I have fallen out of the dating game. Why bother when all the women I meet are 'Sex and the City' mavens.

I think I need to follow MY mom's advice and go back to church.

I don't know.

I guess the idea of being a bit modest is okay. The thing about calling the guy up post-date; well, I suppose that hold's true for some men who might think that the woman is emotionally needy.

For the most part, I don't subscribe to all of these hard and fast rules, which dictate how you should go about courting someone. While I agree with most of the posters in one respect-treating a woman with the kindness and maturity that she deserves-a lot of the other stuff kind of strikes me as belonging to a bygone era.

Sorry, that's just the way I feel.

I guess I was trying to say that changing a person's comportment is more helpful in meeting a good person. There are no guarantees and that is part of the beauty of love. How can anyone know how it all will turn out? No one can.
