I don't like living in a blue state either. Not that it's so terrible but I know a lot of married people who put off kids because it's too expensive.
Yes misery loves company I suppose. There are people who derive 'happiness' from bringing down people with them.
Get out. Or at least push for secession, then you can become a red state refugee.
That would be the dark side of schadenfreude.
Encourage the Philly libs to seceed or atleast emigrate to Canada. You'll have to infultrate them, gain their trust, it's a lot of work but it would be worth it.
I'm of an age that I hold doors, etc., almost automatically: that's the way I was raised. I almost stopped doing it back in the 70s thru early 90s because I got tired of the nasty looks and comments. But I persisted and am happy to report that nowadays I receive mostly warm smiles and "thank you's" from women of all ages. That's big progress. Common courtesy isn't sexist.
WOW! Your post over 9 months ago about Betty Friedan being a Marxist who used feminism as an end around, realy is amazing. It is what I have always believed about the feminist movement theoretically because of the identity of principle of feminism and marxism in terms of the goal of overthrowing authoritativeness and merit in favor of more materialist values. Let me know if you've thought any more about this link in the ensuing months.
Wow, second article today attacking fems for what they are. Looks like progress is being made and the ball has begun to roll and gain momentum. Gotta save this one too.
I've also learned that trying to attract the attentions of man already burned once by a 'independent woman' is a fruitless effort and these men don't go through half the trouble single men or married men do to use a girl sexually. They do no think we women are worth it. I think it came as a surprise to feminists that the value of women is not infinite. Women as wives can be priced higher than the market will bear, and the feminists have seen to it by turning the family court system into a buzz-saw that chops up men for the sheer joy of it that that has happened. You're right: fathers now counsel their sons not to get married. Men tell each other not to get married. "Maturity" has nothing to do with it; it's a cold, calculated decision based on the risks and the punishments doled out by the courts to men, just for being men. Men are human... they would like to have children and families, too. But if you knew that the price of giving in to that natural inclination was that you will get your head chopped off, you'd write it off as well. There are always women (and some men) who want to claim that this all overblown. They'll haul out their sample-of-one ("I've been happily married for 20 years!") to make the absurd claim that the risk of getting married is therefore zero "if you pick the right girl." Trouble is, no man can tell in advance who that is. And in the meantime, every man knows guys who have been just reamed by these courts. I don't know how to change this now. The "divorce industry" of lawyers and psychologists and counselors has become a big business, with lots of money for lobbying and whatnot to make things even worse. Perhaps one state somewhere will elect a Governor some day that will make tearing down these "barriers to entry" a priority. Make marriage less of an economic and emotional (how would you like to be told that you may now "visit" your children?) crap-shoot for men, and that state might find itself suddenly awash in mature men. |
