OPEN LETTER TO AMERICAN FEMINISTS
my angry self | 04 June 2004 | me

Posted on 06/04/2004 12:43:30 PM PDT by cyborg

Dear American Feminists,

I am a thirty year old woman living in the United States and have been studying what is known as 'the women's movement'. I've read some of your books especially those written by Gloria Steinem and other famous women's rights advocates. Reading these books I hoped to gain some insight into the movement that my fellow conservatives railed against. I sought to find out why Rush Limbaugh takes such obvious delight in calling all of you feminazis.

I disagreed with the goals of the feminists such as abortion rights, putting career ahead of family and so on. I thought it would be easy for me to go on with my life and allow you to go promoting feminist causes. After all, this is America and I don't spend my time telling other people how to behave and what to think. However, I did not realize the impact that the feminist movement had in the lives of men and women in this country till I started dating (if it can be called such).

I hope you are happy with yourselves. You've made it possible for more girls to enter spinsterhood than ever before all the while going psychotic and starving ourselves to death into an early grave besides. The biblical verse (I know you hate christianity but please excuse me) that states 'what does it profit a man if he gains the world and loses his soul' comes to mind. What does it matter if I'm rich with a great career, my own car, a healthy 'sex life' and nice clothes if I'm alone when I'm eighty rocking myself to sleep in a dirty nursing home all alone with no grandchildren? Perhaps you don't care that many men cringe at the idea of getting married because you don't care for the institution of getting married yourselves. Perhaps not having children doesn't bother you because you're too busy advocating the murder of children in the womb.

You talk about us women embracing our 'real bodies' and 'our fat womyn' BUT what do you feminists fill your magazines with? It's not 'real womyn' that is for sure. You peddle independent womanhood in the form of acting like a slut, dressing like a slut and having women portrayed as black widows. You champion little girls wearing g-strings and playing rainbow braclet gamwes while condemning girls who save themselves for marriage, or girls who are celibate and dress modestly as 'old fashioned' and 'out of touch'.

My thirtieth birthday came and went, and so far I've learned that many men don't respect women. A married man will go over land sea and tell all kinds of lies to get sex from a girl. I've also learned that trying to attract the attentions of man already burned once by a 'independent woman' is a fruitless effort and these men don't go through half the trouble single men or married men do to use a girl sexually. They do no think we women are worth it. I wonder how many girls will learn about your lies the hard way? How many girls will have a mother like mine to listen to the whining and frustration then only to say, 'see? You need to church and get right with God.' not mothers who are interested in being their best buddies and further encourage promiscuity.

Many young men don't even want to get married but instead wait for those women willing to have casual sex with them. You taught these girls that having unattached sex is the mark of a proud, independent woman like Sex in the City for instance. You trash Jessica Simpson for being a brainless idiot but we BOTH know why you really trash her and don't trash Britney Spears. Frustrated fathers raise sons and tell them never to get married. What are girls like me supposed to do? Or is my choice to want to be a wife and mother not as vaunted as having abortions or group sex on MTV? Bring up marriage and children to a single man these days, and a girl will find herself all alone on a Saturday night. So what's a girl to do? Don't bother answering feminists. American culture has had enough of your answers. Your well intentioned moral boondoggles have hurt women more than you will ever realize. Let's hope you don't spread your false gospel elsewhere.

Thank you for your time.

I don't like living in a blue state either. Not that it's so terrible but I know a lot of married people who put off kids because it's too expensive.

Yes misery loves company I suppose. There are people who derive 'happiness' from bringing down people with them.

(sigh) I hate living in a blue state.

Get out. Or at least push for secession, then you can become a red state refugee.

That would be the dark side of schadenfreude.

With Philly hanging around our necks like a lead anchor, that'll never happen, unfortunately...

Encourage the Philly libs to seceed or atleast emigrate to Canada. You'll have to infultrate them, gain their trust, it's a lot of work but it would be worth it.

Any man who holds a door for me gets a big smile and a "thank you!"

I'm of an age that I hold doors, etc., almost automatically: that's the way I was raised. I almost stopped doing it back in the 70s thru early 90s because I got tired of the nasty looks and comments. But I persisted and am happy to report that nowadays I receive mostly warm smiles and "thank you's" from women of all ages. That's big progress. Common courtesy isn't sexist.

WOW! Your post over 9 months ago about Betty Friedan being a Marxist who used feminism as an end around, realy is amazing. It is what I have always believed about the feminist movement theoretically because of the identity of principle of feminism and marxism in terms of the goal of overthrowing authoritativeness and merit in favor of more materialist values. Let me know if you've thought any more about this link in the ensuing months.

Wow, second article today attacking fems for what they are. Looks like progress is being made and the ball has begun to roll and gain momentum. Gotta save this one too.

I think it came as a surprise to feminists that the value of women is not infinite. Women as wives can be priced higher than the market will bear, and the feminists have seen to it — by turning the family court system into a buzz-saw that chops up men for the sheer joy of it — that that has happened.

You're right: fathers now counsel their sons not to get married. Men tell each other not to get married. "Maturity" has nothing to do with it; it's a cold, calculated decision based on the risks and the punishments doled out by the courts to men, just for being men.

Men are human... they would like to have children and families, too. But if you knew that the price of giving in to that natural inclination was that you will get your head chopped off, you'd write it off as well.

There are always women (and some men) who want to claim that this all overblown. They'll haul out their sample-of-one ("I've been happily married for 20 years!") to make the absurd claim that the risk of getting married is therefore zero "if you pick the right girl." Trouble is, no man can tell in advance who that is. And in the meantime, every man knows guys who have been just reamed by these courts.

I don't know how to change this now. The "divorce industry" of lawyers and psychologists and counselors has become a big business, with lots of money for lobbying and whatnot to make things even worse. Perhaps one state somewhere will elect a Governor some day that will make tearing down these "barriers to entry" a priority. Make marriage less of an economic and emotional (how would you like to be told that you may now "visit" your children?) crap-shoot for men, and that state might find itself suddenly awash in mature men.
