OPEN LETTER TO AMERICAN FEMINISTS
my angry self | 04 June 2004 | me

Posted on 06/04/2004 12:43:30 PM PDT by cyborg

Dear American Feminists,

I am a thirty year old woman living in the United States and have been studying what is known as 'the women's movement'. I've read some of your books especially those written by Gloria Steinem and other famous women's rights advocates. Reading these books I hoped to gain some insight into the movement that my fellow conservatives railed against. I sought to find out why Rush Limbaugh takes such obvious delight in calling all of you feminazis.

I disagreed with the goals of the feminists such as abortion rights, putting career ahead of family and so on. I thought it would be easy for me to go on with my life and allow you to go promoting feminist causes. After all, this is America and I don't spend my time telling other people how to behave and what to think. However, I did not realize the impact that the feminist movement had in the lives of men and women in this country till I started dating (if it can be called such).

I hope you are happy with yourselves. You've made it possible for more girls to enter spinsterhood than ever before all the while going psychotic and starving ourselves to death into an early grave besides. The biblical verse (I know you hate christianity but please excuse me) that states 'what does it profit a man if he gains the world and loses his soul' comes to mind. What does it matter if I'm rich with a great career, my own car, a healthy 'sex life' and nice clothes if I'm alone when I'm eighty rocking myself to sleep in a dirty nursing home all alone with no grandchildren? Perhaps you don't care that many men cringe at the idea of getting married because you don't care for the institution of getting married yourselves. Perhaps not having children doesn't bother you because you're too busy advocating the murder of children in the womb.

You talk about us women embracing our 'real bodies' and 'our fat womyn' BUT what do you feminists fill your magazines with? It's not 'real womyn' that is for sure. You peddle independent womanhood in the form of acting like a slut, dressing like a slut and having women portrayed as black widows. You champion little girls wearing g-strings and playing rainbow braclet gamwes while condemning girls who save themselves for marriage, or girls who are celibate and dress modestly as 'old fashioned' and 'out of touch'.

My thirtieth birthday came and went, and so far I've learned that many men don't respect women. A married man will go over land sea and tell all kinds of lies to get sex from a girl. I've also learned that trying to attract the attentions of man already burned once by a 'independent woman' is a fruitless effort and these men don't go through half the trouble single men or married men do to use a girl sexually. They do no think we women are worth it. I wonder how many girls will learn about your lies the hard way? How many girls will have a mother like mine to listen to the whining and frustration then only to say, 'see? You need to church and get right with God.' not mothers who are interested in being their best buddies and further encourage promiscuity.

Many young men don't even want to get married but instead wait for those women willing to have casual sex with them. You taught these girls that having unattached sex is the mark of a proud, independent woman like Sex in the City for instance. You trash Jessica Simpson for being a brainless idiot but we BOTH know why you really trash her and don't trash Britney Spears. Frustrated fathers raise sons and tell them never to get married. What are girls like me supposed to do? Or is my choice to want to be a wife and mother not as vaunted as having abortions or group sex on MTV? Bring up marriage and children to a single man these days, and a girl will find herself all alone on a Saturday night. So what's a girl to do? Don't bother answering feminists. American culture has had enough of your answers. Your well intentioned moral boondoggles have hurt women more than you will ever realize. Let's hope you don't spread your false gospel elsewhere.

Thank you for your time.

thanks... I do have a tendency to be very passive and brood over things, and this has been bothering me for some time.

It's becoming more difficult every day to convince young men that all they need to do is "find the right girl." The right girl is only known in hindsight; all the real girls that can be dealt with today look like a 50-50 chance of ending up alone and in the poor house, estranged from one's children and treated like a bottomless ATM machine by lawyers and courts....

EXACTLY!!!

There was a time and a place for feminism but I think the modern feminist movement has degraded to merely being a group of fat, ugly angry women jealously trying to ruin the happiness of all other women via emotional manipulation.

Female genital mutilation is practiced in many Muslim cultures. It's the older women who perform the procedure on the young girls. One would think that women would rebel against depriving their own daughters of the ability to have sexual release. Perhaps it's an attitude of "If I'm condemned to never experience sexual pleasure, why should YOU be allowed any?".

The attitude may be more widespread than we think

I agree with that. Envy/jealousy is a terrible human failing.

I have never seen a woman upset that a man opened the door for her. At least by me.

If you send it to a national paper you may become the speaker for a new demografic group, the "anti-feminist mom".

Whereupon the DNC will immediatly study you for your vote, Kerry will say he already has your vote, and feminist studies departments will decry you existence as in indication of the oppressive traditional marriage which enslaves women into heterosexuality.

There's also the tendency for women to hold out for a Prince Charming who never seems to arrive bearing glass slipper. Many ladies here on FR have related how they realized that in themselves and found their true happiness with flawed but devoted real-life men. They've also said that most women's magazines are merely tools of the "running dogs of feminism", designed to crank up insecurity, justify impossible expectations and sell products.

One image seems to capture it nicely (and there's a corresponding one for the guys):

"Yep. Once I know a woman, and figure out that she not only won't object, but appreciates it, I'll do these things. But a stranger? Too easy to garner dirty looks as it is."

I think you nailed it here. The mystique that a woman doesn't need a man's help has been created, stripping chivalry to the bone.

Even worse for image-fixated women is the physical fitness trend that's become very popular with male homosexuals. You've hit it off, he's handsome , funny, monied, receptive, weii-mannered and single. Then he drops the bomb by mentioning his "life partner". You shrink until the busboy mistakes you for a crumb or your atoms implode.

It's hard for average joes like myself to sympathize because it seems to be perfect karmic reward for over-agressive upward mobility (gold digging). We know that behavior is hard wired but we still find it offensive.

...I have fond memories of a large knife at my neck as a child when buglers robbed the home. My pillow was lifted with my head on it to look for loose change I guess.

That's a scary thought!

Bravo to you. I did not see anything I disagreed with, and you know where I am heading off to again, in October. The points you bring out, have much to do with it.

i'm visiting an out-of-state university.

i do 50-70 staircases a day for exercise. i like the stadium because it's steep, but it's closed for security reasons. a campus police officer directed me to the basketball court, saying, it's open everyday for exercise and air-conditioned.

guess what? i wasn't there longer than 10 minutes until some feminist chicks started blocking my access to the stairs; as i was going up the stairs, they'd position themselves on the horizontal concourses to interrupt my movement, crossing paths with me. thus, i'd have to break my stride. this went on for two weeks daily until i removed myself to the 6-story parking structures. the guys didn't do this.

apparently they feel inferior and jealous of men.

Thanks :-) It's an oldie but a goodie considering all the current discussion about declining birth rates. My mother had at least nine other siblings and my father had the same number, both Roman Catholics. It's about cherishing life and wanting God's best.

I like this line:

A married man will go over land sea and tell all kinds of lies to get sex from a girl.

Petronski will go over land and sea and tell all kinds of lies just for some good old-fashioned hand-holding. Alas, I believe I was born sixty years too late.
