BUSH CONTACTS OUTSIDE ATTORNEY IN LEAK CASE: ABC News' Kate Snow reports that President Bush has contacted an outside attorney in case over leak of name of CIA operative Valerie Plume, wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson...
And they don't understand the humor behind those words.
FOFLOL. You can't be serious. Dick Cheney is about as closed mouthed an individual as has ever set foot in DC.
I saw the clip of him saying this. He was wearing his pink tie again. I'm thinking of that tie as his own little crusty...
I caught that. LOL what a dumbass. The post was quoted as if it had been posted genuinely, rather than sarcastically.
I have a bag of Sakrete out in the shed with more wit and awareness than that.
The media is pretty predictable. Pathetic, but predictable.
"Hell, Clinton was a one-man growth industry for defense lawyers."-----Clinton was a one man crime wave. I stole that from a brother here in Freep-land.
I haven't read every post here but how do you know that it was the president who told the press he contacted an attorney?
The man is pure evil, no other word or it.
I heard Cliff May say that he was told by a democrat, and it was by way of explaining why on earth Joe Wilson, of all people, would be sent on such a "mission".
During a break in the hearings on October 12, Dan Rather asked: "Would you agree, or would you not agree, that one person's leak is another person's public service?" On the same day, Nina Totenberg insisted that "the history books are full of important and historic events that were the result of news leaks.... [Watergate] would have just been a third-rate robbery if there hadn't been a lot of leaks disclosing what it had all been about. So, news leaks -- I don't want to be defensive about this -- but news leaks aren't always bad."

I can be serious about asking the question.
Chrissy Matthews doesn't need viagra. Turning something like news Bush having a hangnail into the sacandal of the century is the viagra for him.

This actually has the WH confirming the CBS report... but how did CBS find out except by the WHY telling them?
Yep. Starting with Enron..
Yes. I read it in Vanity Fair. Her title was so-called "cultural counselor" in Burundi, where they met.
In VF Wilson says she came with him to the dinner with Saddam's chief buyer of French arms on the eve of the Kuwait invasion. In his book he says he went alone. The book has no mention at all (by my very quick skimming) of his second wife.
What - is Valerie his THIRD wife?
Yes.
Because you're paranoid. ;-)
Thanks for the link. From it:
President Bush has consulted an outside lawyer in case he needs to retain him in the grand jury investigation of who leaked the name of a covert CIA operative last year, the White House said Wednesday.
There was no indication that Bush is a target of the leak investigation, but the president has decided that in the event he needs an attorney's advice, "he would retain him," White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan said.
The lawyer is Jim Sharp, Buchan said, confirming a report by CBS News.
Wilson is more suspect than ANYTHING he has charged others with.
I've long noticed that the malignant narcissists who compose the radicals within the Democrat party accuse others of the very things they do or wish to do.
"If *what* had happened under Clinton? If a CIA sub-group on their own volition sent a person known to be a political enemy of the sitting president off to a foreign land and then later leak misleading and outright false tales about the trip, lying about the WH's role in it and so on? You think that would have been kicked up?"
I don't personally know what happened. And unless you have been sitting on the Grand Jury, I doubt you do either. My point was simply that there is a lot of speculation going on that is not based on reality.
Yes, speaking of Mrs. Greenspan, can you shed light on this Joe Wilson emanation?
Wilson gives an interview to the TalkingPointsMemo.com...TPM: And, just to be clear, at this time (--when he traveled to Niger in 2002--), you hadn't seen these documents that turned out to be forgeries?
WILSON: No, I hadn't. I had just been briefed on a memorandum of agreement covering the sale. Now, my understanding is that there are all sorts of other documents that have since come to light and Andrea Mitchell showed me some documents which I had not seen and frankly, I did not have my glasses, so I didn't even get a chance to read them, and I have not seen them since. The uranium participation in this consortium is done through a parastatal, which means that the Niger government owns the corporate identity that is a member of the consortium.
Just reportin' what I'm readin'...
