The Fall Of Islam
Surely, Allah has purchased of the believers their persons and their property in return for the Garden they shall have; they fight in the cause of Allah, and they slay and are slain - QurAn 9:111
I know when it happened. On September 11th, 2001, fanatical followers of a religion America was just beginning to accept struck a blow they hoped would lead to our destruction. In striking that blow, they revealed their hand. And America stepped back and began to take a more sober view of the religion that sanctioned the wanton murder of thousands.
Before the PR disaster-in-the-making spun too far out of hand, our President quickly stepped forward and called Islam a religion of peace. To the ears of many, it sounded too much like Orwells ironically named Ministry of Peace. Or more bluntly, it was a crock and most Americans knew it.
But it was a crock we thought we should live with, because how could we blame a religion with millions of adherents for 9-11? It seemed unfair, and dangerous to Americas and the worlds safety.
Besides, the President knew that Arab Muslims had us over a barrel (literally). If we wanted to keep fueling our SUVs, it was best not to insult the mans religion, know what I mean?
Yet nearly three years later, many brave Americans have died fighting an unnamed enemy. We pretend we are fighting terrorists. In reality, we are fighting what many believe is a fraudulent religion with the systematic slaughter and forced conversion of millions in its wake.
Why do so many consider the religion itself a fraud? Its not just its bloodthirsty and contradictory teachings, or the questionable character of its founder. Look at its history, fraught with violence and intimidation. And look at its fruit todayterrorism everywhere, with barely a protest anywhere to the most barbaric actions of its practitioners.
In short, whatever moral capital Islam may have had began to evaporate on September 11th. The events since then have done nothing to buff its image, quite the contrary actually.
I believe history will record that the silver lining to September 11th was its role in beginning to unmask the religion of peace. The Nick Berg beheading and the resulting silence from the Muslim world may have provided the coupe de grace.
Islam will continue to grow by violent means. It will continue to appeal to the angry, the disaffected, those looking to even a score. But for all practical purposes, Islam is dead among those who are awake. And that is a very good thing.
Does that mean that well-meaning people cannot be followers of Islam? No, it doesnt mean that. But I believe they have been by and large brainwashed into believing a lie. We owe them the truth and our support if desired.
Do we need to continue our fight against Islamic terrorism? Absolutely. But this fight must start with honest talk. Muslim terrorists are disciples of Muhammad and the religions holy books. They murder because their holy books tell them to. They behead their enemy because their holy books tell them to. They force their religion on others because their holy books tell them to.
Lets face it, the President has already played his hand. Regarding the religion of peace, for better or worse its his story and hes sticking to it. It is up to the people to demand honest talk and action from our leaders, and we must accurately name this enemy before we effectively fight and subdue it.
We absolutely must end our dependence on Arab Muslim oil. Material independence makes independence of thought and speech much easier to carry out!
And we must allow the religion of peace to die of its own self-inflicted wounds, less we are willingout of our own moral cowardiceto let it kill us.

Bump.

That knife cuts both ways, and they need to sell us their oil a lot worse than we need to buy it. If the situation ever came to a head, little Tommy Daschle's obstruction of drilling wouldn't go over too well.
Of course, I think it is a mistake to rebuild Iraq before it is destroyed, but that is the political climate we live in.
Volley bump!
BTTT!
I have a fear, I'm afraid that the liberal left is driving the public to forget 9/11, and to believe that Islam really is a religion of peace. I hear a great many people around me scream about the injustice of the war in Iraq, and the evil motives behind it. Americans truely have a short attention span.
This is the really bad part. I fear that the public will dismiss what President Bush has done in the WOT because of our collective short attention span. That will push the swing vote to Kerry. And if Kerry is elected, the WOT will stall, and we could indeed be in danger of being overwhelmed from within, (by our newly embraced islamist immigrants under a Kerry administration).
If al-Quaida uses Spain as their model, they will attack the US before the elections. IF they do that, many will die, but Americans will respond differently. Americans will see islamists as the enemy, at least for the short term, and it will help push the swing vote to Bush.
If the islamists don't attack, the swing vote will move to Kerry, and we will be in serious, serious trouble. No one in power will have the guts to acknowledge we are in fact, at war. Or, to acknowledge islam as the enemy.
That is what I see, and I don't like it. Anyone care to correct me where I'm wrong?
Thanks for the Volley Bump Alamo-Girl!
You and I know the truth. But there is no way that the US Government will take any across the board stance against the entire religion of Islam for a host of reasons, some that I agree with.
Thanks Hope! You're right-on!
You're quite welcome. Here's another!
bump !
Be still my heart. Someone has finally concisely told it as it is.
Bookmarked.
I guess we have our work cut out for us.
"We pretend we are fighting terrorists. "
Has he spoken to many of the troops? We're fighting terrorists, not the muslim people.
Seems like its going to play out how its going to play out. Some of us know the truth and won't let people forget it.
I agree!! You can thank rebuildus if you want!
Sorry, Patrick and numerous others on this forum just don't understand the president's motivation in calling Islam a "religion of peace." While I would agree that Islam is the true enemy (as I'm certain the president does), I also realize that we need to limit the size of our enemy until such time as we are capable of dealing with it, which is why the president has, time after time, painted this conflict as a war against terrorism and NOT a war against Islam. To as much extent as possible this includes using other Islamic nations in the battle against "terror" such as Pakistan, Turkey, etc. Divide and conquer!
The president is a pragmatist and a diplomat and to that end will prayerfully guide us in a manner that minimizes losses for all concerned and seeks to changes hearts and minds, not destroy them eternally.
