I had read several places that the arab nations would not be at the meeting...
I am so glad they are, it is a small measure of safety.
Can't say that I think much really comes out of it, I rather think that the deals are made long before the meeting and the meeting is only "for show".
Of course the Jihads might think of them as trators that need to be replaced, and well they might not mind attacking those leaders. So nothing is ceartin just because they are there, but it does lower the odds of the G-8 Being attacked I think.

Police and media far outnumbered protesters at demonstrations today on the eve of the G8 Summit... It was a disappointing sight for activists who say heavy security had scared away many others.

Organizers has estimated about five- to ten-thousand people to attend that event, but today they lowered that projection to around one-thousand.
Officials say it's still too early to say whether things could turn ugly once the meeting begins.
