"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - Tens of American, European and other hostages were released Sunday and a gunman believed to be the lead Islamic militant holding them was arrested, a Saudi security official said, adding that two other gunmen were "in the process of being arrested."
We are the "Stotters" who make ourselves aware of the enemy who wishes to do us harm
This is why we have cancelled many of our European contracts.
The dollar is much stronger in South America, and that is where most of our wood imports come from now. Just speaking about our own business......I'm sure other American companies are experiencing the same thing.

White House defends invitation list for G-8 summit
SEA ISLAND, Ga. (AP) President Bush's national security adviser on Monday criticized Arabic-language broadcaster Al-Jazeera for "purely inaccurate" reporting, suggesting the Qatar-based satellite station was presenting a biased account of developments in the Middle East.
....
The G-8 members will meet over lunch Wednesday with the leaders of Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Jordan, Turkey, Yemen and a representative of the new Iraqi interim government to discuss Bush's proposal for a broader Middle East initiative.
A leaked draft of the proposal caused an uproar in Arab nations that perceived it as an arrogant America pushing its own ideas.

Iraq, terrorism top G-8 summit topics
..........
(President) Bush got a boost over the weekend when Iraq's new interim prime minister, Ayad Allawi, invited U.S. troops to stay in Iraq beyond the June 30 transfer of power, hailing it as a "positive step forward."
But it was clear there's still considerable tension between Bush and French President Jacques Chirac when the two met Saturday in Paris.
Bush didn't endear himself to the French leader with recent comparisons of the Iraq war and the fight against Nazi Germany in the Second World War.
"History does not repeat itself," Chirac said,
....
While Iraq will doubtless top the agenda, leaders gathering on the exclusive vacation island off the Georgia coast ...
will also discuss anti-terrorism, U.S. proposals for broader democracy in the Middle East, weapons reduction, global warming and world economic issues.
But some analysts didn't expect much progress on the most contentious items among leaders burdened by economic or political troubles at home. Even U.S. officials downplayed the chances for substantial progress on Iraq.
Prime Minister Paul Martin, in the middle of an election campaign, will duck out a day early to get back on the road.
He's expected to discuss Canada's $300-million Cdn commitment to help in Iraq and efforts in Afghanistan when he meets Bush tomorrow.
The two will also likely broach the long-running softwood lumber dispute and Bush's promise in April to drop the ban on Canadian cattle that has yet to yield results.
Other topics include rising gas prices and U.S. and European agricultural subsidies.
In the broader summit, Martin hoped to make headway on global poverty, including how the wealthy Group of Eight countries can facilitate private-sector development in developing countries.
Other G-8 countries were expected to push for progress on less divisive issues, including HIV-AIDS initiatives, slave labour and dismantling stocks of nuclear and chemical weapons.

WHAT'S THE RESULT WITH GRANDDAUGHTER SO FAR, MAMA D?
i BELIEVE it's Olive oil, too.
However, in terms of anything GOD ALMIGHTY SAID,
even if I was possessed or crazy enough to try and oppose, I think I'd steer clear of ANY oil just to be sure and avoid any GREATER wrath.
We shall see what happens!
YIKES! Bump for later reading so I can have nightmares tonight. ;)
Thank you for finding this.
I had read several places that the arab nations would not be at the meeting...
I am so glad they are, it is a small measure of safety.
Can't say that I think much really comes out of it, I rather think that the deals are made long before the meeting and the meeting is only "for show".
Of course the Jihads might think of them as trators that need to be replaced, and well they might not mind attacking those leaders. So nothing is ceartin just because they are there, but it does lower the odds of the G-8 Being attacked I think.
I'm back! Pretty good show so far, getting a bit of interest in our system.
Security was fairly good. Scores of police around the center. Police patrolling INSIDE in groups of 2, 3 and 4.
I'd feel a little more comfortable if they'd at least spot check bags. (Maybe they did when the show opened to guests, I came in early as an exhibitor). I think a full hazmat suit would be overdoing it a bit...
As I'm reading through the latest posts here, I'm getting the sense that there is a collective uneasy feeling on this thread about tomorrow. Hopefully it will be uneventful. As oceanview mentioned, I think it's the transportation/infrastructure they're going to hit -- trains and planes. They are waiting for us to be distracted and let down our guard.
Recall the "interview" with the author of "American Jihad"? The Middle East initiative discussion is the key to hastening the al Qaeda attack before the election. They intend to do it anyway. It just accelerates the schedule.
That's the stuff nightmares are made up of alright!
Well, that was pretty scary, but just to be sure that I can't sleep tonight, does anyone know of a similar scenario for Washington, DC?
Done. See above...
