Our rights are being trashed every single day in this country. The liberals are having a field day. The only "religion" that is making inroads as far as rights go is Muslim. Anyway, tell your dad that although Korea is the "forgotten war," many still remember.

My dad passed on Dec 17, 2003. Even though he retired from active duty in September 1977, he never really "retired". He just didn't go into the office anymore.

I think it means the military has effective tools for jamming CDMA (spread spectrum) communications. GPS and CDMA cell phones use similar technology. I wouldn't hold out much hope for using your 802.11b wireless networks either. Bring your VHF and HF emergency radios and a good compass. A Loran C receiver would be a handy item too.

An alleged Egyptian bomb expert arrested in Milan this week was feared to be planning an attack on the Paris metro in the next three days, modelled on the one in which 191 people died in Madrid on March 11.

According to one Italian media report last night, police seized him to avert a massacre before Sunday's European elections. The Madrid bombings took place three days before Spain's general election.

A French interior ministry source said last night that Paris had been informed of the allegations, but played down the claim. "Searches carried out [in France] on the basis of information relayed by the investigators have not allowed a potential attack target to be identified," a French police source told the Reuters news agency.

This week's G8 Summit in Savannah, Georgia has an unmistakeable corporate flavour, but is coupled with a clear absence of social activists and aide groups.



The quid pro quo agreement between G8 organisers and Cingular Wireless allows for the renting of mobile phones. In return, Cingular get to promote its products along a sprawling booth with a giant inflatable model of its X-shaped logo.

But human rights and other groups that usually circulate at G-8 summits have been absent.

One group that has been a fixture at previous summits, the international aide group Oxfam, said it was told not to come.

Past accommodation

At the G-8 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, two years ago, organisers officially allowed such outside groups to have a presence at the media headquarters like the convention centre in Savannah. The group was on hand to praise or pan developments, said Lindsey Cruz, a group spokeswoman.


Authorities were preparing for
large scale demonstrations


Last year, organisers allowed Cruz to attend the G-8 in Evian, France as a journalist for Oxfam's magazine, Exchange. The organisers knew Cruz was also handing out press releases, too, but looked the other way, she said.

But the American organisers turned her group down, Cruz said. First, they told Oxfam the G-8 would not admit freelance journalists. When she protested, they told her they would bar publications owned by non-governmental groups like Oxfam.

Bennett said the summit planning committee decided to exclude non-governmental groups because of space limitations and because the summit was designated a "national security special event." That put the Secret Service in charge of admission, and meant access was "based on need," he said.

Much ado about nothing

Residents along Georgia's marshy coast spent months worrying about the potential for mayhem at the summit: violent protesters, terrorism, traffic snarls - just about anything.

But now, people like Linda Mahoney are wondering what all the fuss was about.

"I don't know what I thought they'd look like... Orange hair, gays and lesbians arm-in-arm ... Your imagination runs away with you. But they look like regular folks"

"We got to meet a protester. She was really nice, a Christian," said Mahoney, a St Simons Island resident.

The lack of trouble seemed to transform residents' fears into curiosity.

The military has some neat trucks and helicopters, they've noticed, and it's fun watching two dozen state troopers line up to ride in big patrol parades, lights ablaze.

The chairman of the Glynn County Commission, Mark Bedner, said he is still worried ‘anarchists’ might try to start trouble as the summit ends on Thursday.

"They're off by themselves. What are they doing?" he asked.

But Mary Gatch said the summit hasn't been nearly as bad as she feared.

The vermin who murdered this child should not have any rights - they should be summarily executed at the first evidence produced tying them to the crime. No jury,no publicity, no lengthty trial or appeals. Not one more minute of air inhaled for them than required to get them to the execution site. There is a wonderful legal organization called (let's see if I get this right) the ACLJ - The American Center for Law and Justice.

They are the exact opposite of the ACLU. Then there's the Rutherford Institute - lawyers fighting for religious freedom. And the law firm of Scott Lively and Richard Ackerman, I can't remember the name of their firm, but they are aggressively pro-family - you might want to look at one of these two websites, they have a lot of culture war news and some great books:

I laugh, at the wonderful underhand threats that have been issued by Georgia. And of course some of the actions that they have put in place.

As most of these protesters come from other countries and are supported by the commies here, they do not have the same rights as you and I.

It is time that someone stood up to them, even at the loss of a few locals rights.

It is time that they know, we don't want them.
