On April 29, 2004, as a service and tribute to members of the World War II Generation, the National World War II Memorial opened for public viewing, exactly one month prior to the formal Dedication Ceremony taking place May 29, 2004. The World War II Memorial is the first national memorial dedicated to all who served during the Second World War. The memorial, established by the American Battle Monuments Commission, honors all military veterans of the war, the citizens on the home front, the nation at large, and the high moral purpose and idealism that motivated the nation's call to arms. The Second World War is the only 20th-century event commemorated on the Mall's central axis. (from www.wwiimemorial.com)
Don't forget that you can watch the dedication today!! God Bless all of our Veterans & Active Duty!!! |

Sometimes we let silly people, wrong headed idiots, way off the wall people hurt us and look back in wonderment...but that lady hit you in a very vulnerable, tender spot..
I let a poster with issues...(with the military among others) get me in a tizzy...I knew he wasn't worth it and he still got to me until I quit posting to him...We can't always avoid them..but on a board we can.
He was banned last week.....;)

Mojo, I just want to let you know once again how much this song means to me.
That is, Jimmy Buffett's "One Particular Harbor". It's led me home on many a stormy night, if you take my meaning.

LOL!!! Great! (I had to quit attending the meetings to avoid that lady. But that club had other "issues," like those who were under the impression that writing done for pay is ALWAYS less noble than that which is done to conform to their definition of that which is "literary." I didn't need such critics. I already deal with editors! LOL)
