I responded to this young person by email and thanked them for their service to our Republic and the Iraqi people. I also pointed them to the transcript of President Bush's inspiring speech this week on the web site HERE if they hadn't already seen it.

I told J. Maples that despite what the media may say, and despite the rantings of particular politicians, most Americans are behind them and understand the import of the mission and the risks and support it.

I adopted a soldier through Operation Air Conditioner. I never heard from him. My guess is that he was a little to busy to correspond. That's okay. I'm glad word gets out to our service people that we love and support them.

I literally just got back from the post office where I sent out 16 boxes of stuff to Iraq. The most important thing I think is the 100's of letters included in the boxes. I hope that helps.
