Did Dick Morris Imply that Bill Clinton BEAT Hillary???
I've been reading Dick Morris's book "Rewriting History" -- it's quite good. Anyway, I came to a dangling question that Morris leaves the reader with on 210, and I'm curious as to how others would interpret this.
Here is a the little snippet I'm referring to -- I assure you, legally, this little blurb qualifies as "fair use." Trust me -- I spent months in Copyright Law class and did very well :)
This starts on p.209, right after Morris, in 1990, alerted Clinton to bad polling numbers in his last race for re-election as Governor of Arkansas. Bill Clinton started screaming, red-faced, at Dick, and Dick starts to leave:
--snip--
In pain, angry, tired, fed up, I stormed out of the [Governor's] Mansion, yelling back at [Bill]: "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. You've solved my problem. I'm getting sh*t from [Lee] Atwater and sh*t from [Trent] Lott working for you, and now I can solve my problem. I'm quitting your campaign -- I'll be a free agent. I can be a fifty-state Republican, and I won't have to take your sh*t." As I marched through the kitchen to leave the Mansion, I heard hoofbeats. Bill came up at a run, threw me to the ground, and drew his fist back to punch me (emphasis added). Hillary was on him in a flash, grabbing his arm and screaming at him: "Bill! Stop! Think! Get control! What are you doing? Bill!"
Red faced, breathing hard, Clinton jumped to his feet spewing apologies. Realizing he'd gone too far, he switched instantly to damage control, trying desperately to keep me on his reservation.
Hillary leapt forward and followed me out of the Mansion as I stalked off to the parking lot. "Dick, Dick, I'm sorry -- I'm so sorry. Don't go. Bill didn't mean it. Please don't go. Calm down. Dick." Then she said something I have pondered ever since. I offer no explanation of its meaning; I leave it to the readers to make of it what they will. She said: "He only does this to people he loves" (emphasis added).
--snip--
Am I alone in concluding that Morris believes, or knew, that Bill Clinton physically beat Hillary?
This is an old story. Who cares. Hey, did anyone see the picture of Hillary in this week's National Enquirer???? HILARIOUS!!!!! She's wearing the most ridiculous black frilly gown. It probably is the worst picture we've ever seen of her. And that's saying alot!
Someone had to say it. LOL
Given that the words came from Hillary's mouth, I think it indicates the possibility that Bill beat Hillary. I don't think it indicates that Morris had clear knowledge of whether that was true--if Morris did know that, I'm sure he would have said so more directly. He sure didn't pull his other punches in this book.
Oh boy!! Now we can add wife beater to his list of names.
Would this really surprise anyone?
If he did, it obviously was nowhere near enough....
LOL... I was *thinking* just that (not hard enough), but I didn't want to write that in the post itself.
The incident is famous, but I haven't seen that twist put on it.
Who knows what she meant? Both clintons are certifiably crazy. He is a psychopath and she suffers from murderous rages.
I remember that comment and assumed it might be Roger Clinton or, even possibly his Mother, if he was all coked up and she was drunk & on his case. Hey, what about Vince or Web or that MacDougal gal? Maybe just shoving or something....I can't imagine him striking Hill....and getting away with it!
I am also reading the book...not to that part yet. I have heard Dick Morris tell this story before, and I didn't then nor do I now believe Clinton EVER beat Hillary. I think the "he only does it to people he loves" comment was her just popping off. Does anyone actually believe Hillary Clinton would allow Bill Clinton (or anyone else, for that matter) to continue living if they "beat" her?
Now, ask me if I believe SHE may have struck HIM a time or two!?
"Am I alone in concluding that Morris believes, or knew, that Bill Clinton physically beat Hillary?"
Well....I'm not buying that. Morris likes to be provocative.
Well, that leaves out everyone in the world but himself. Maybe those bruises we thought Hillary put on him were self inflicted?
Or just maybe Hillary was lying to Dick about Billy's cowardly behavior.
"He only does this to people he loves" (emphasis added).
That leaves Hillary out. Maybe Monica..
Always with the overblown descriptors.
Oh please don't go there making her out a martyr.
After standing by her man through all of his scandals now we're to believe that he beats his wife too.
Morris has repeated that about Hillary several times. He always leaves it 'at that.' He has a smirk on his face. I take it to imply that Bill can and has been physicial with 'others' on occasion.
