I can honestly say, that here in NC, at the agency where I work, we have busted in to the right residence\building\etc. each time. However, I know what you are saying. But, also remember, when busting in, Police are supposed to be yelling their identity and that they have a warrant.
[WARNING: Strong language. It's Chris Rock, fer chrissakes!]
That video cracks me up every time; I've seen every variant on the illustrated behaviors during ride-alongs.
You are right. Usually, those who hate Police I encounter broke the law at some point time, got caught doing something they shouldn't be doing, or carrying something they should not be carrying. Now, it is all Law Enforcement's fault they spent time in jail or had to pay a huge fine and court costs.
You are also right. I tell people, don't be afraid to protect your homes, and your family. My motto is, "I would rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6!!!"
Thanks. Police everywhere appreciate your sentiments.
All of your complaints are exactly why I am glad I don't live on the left coast. I truly feel sorry for my fellow conservatives who are trapped in that HELL on Earth. I can not imagine what you folks must have to endure on a daily basis.
Since you are a cop in NC can I ask you a question? I have a CCW permit in Pennsylvania and I'm going to be in the Outer Banks this summer. Do you know if I will be legal to have my S&W with me?
"for me, the show makes me care less and less about whether the officers follow every single letter of the law."
Why are you participating in a conservative discussion board?
"I don't really care if every letter of the law gets applied to the typical low-lifes that I see on that show."
So, in other words, it is acceptable for one person to violate the law to apprehend another person voilating the law. Nice!
It is against the Law for any weapon to be transported across state lines. However, if you do carry the weapon anyway, I would not let anyone know about it, unless directly asked by Law Enfocement. We do have a CCW law here in NC, but it requires you tell the Officer immediately if you have been stopped, about the weapon. Of course you probably already know, don't go in banks or on to school property with your gun. If there is a business with a sign displayed saying you can't have your concealed weapon there, you better not be caught with it.
If so, then that must be a new NC law since it's very common to carry rifles across the VA/NC line during deer season. In addition, I can freely carry concealed in any state which has reciprocity agreements with VA.
Thank you and stay safe.
Transporting weapons across state lines falls under federal law. However, I can honestly say that I am not sure how the interstate compact influences the transporting of weapons across state lines. There are very defined Federal Laws that address carrying weapons across state lines.
Yep, Cincinnati has become a real toilet. I will avoid the place at all costs.
Sorry if my comment sounded flippant. I was originally responding to someone who said that constitutional violations are rapant on "Cops." I find that hard to believe -- I'm not expert but I have only very seldom seen anything on "Cops" that looks to me like a constiutional violation. If there are those violations going on, then it seems to me they must be so technical or so non-substantive that they pale in comparison with the good being done by the police officers on ths show.
I'm not worried about the cops who are on "Cops" -- I'm worried about the cops who don't have a TV camera following them around. There are a few real bad apples in that bunch, and I do indeed care if they are bending or breaking the law. As I've said many times before, an out-of-control government or government agent is thousands of times more dangerous and scary than any street criminal. The worst individual criminals have killed a handfull of people, while the worst criminals in government have killed tens of millions -- that shows where our real worries should be.
Keep in mind that the cops on camera are on their best behavior and still violating people's rights! I do understand your posts........
Well, as someone who lives in Cincinnati, I heartily disagree with your sentiment. Cincinnati is not a toilet...
No, I've never been fed into the meat grinder. I don't know if that makes me a good person or just a cautious and boring person, but I don't get in that kind of trouble. It helps to live in a small, well-to-do rurual town where there hasn't been an actual crime against an innocent person in decades -- so the cops here don't need to have a lot of attitude.
The five minutes includes commercials.
By the time the cops show up, most times the incident is over except for the report writing.
