Raid at Mosque
WPVI (Philadelphia) ^ | 5/27/2004 | Davis Henry

Posted on 05/27/2004 9:39:31 AM PDT by wjersey

The FBI, IRS and INS were all involved in this morning's raid. The Counter-Terrorism Task Force raided a home and a mosque in Northeast Philadelphia on Wakeling Street.

It happened at the home of 45-year-old Muhammad Gurab and his family. He is an Egyptian national who came to the U.S. 4 years ago and started a mosque.

The man's wife, Meriem Moumen, tells Action News they were on their way to drop their daughter off at school when the police pulled up behind them with the lights flashing and demanded that the family get out of the car.

She tells Action News that the agents brought them back to their home and the mosque and searched through both buildings. Agents kept asking them where the guns and weapons were, she said, and where they get their money.

Sources tell Action News that the investigation does revolve around possible ties to terrorism, but the U.S. Attorneys Office says they can not yet comment on what happened in Northeast Philadelphia.

No charges have been officially filed, but the imam has been taken into custody for questioning about possible terror connections.

Action News has learned there were similar raids in other parts of the city. Tune in to Action New tonight starting at 5pm for the very latest.

Oh, Oh! Muslims are now being persecuted by the USA. There can be only one response: Jihad against America!

"Smoke 'em if ya got 'em" too.

I think johnfrink is on to something here, and i think it's great. If some POS or a chamberpotfull is getting ready to hit us, I think Ashcraft and Co. are doing just fine with this strategy.

I'm assuming this story is about the mosque in question.

Yellowpages info on the mosque:

Ansaarullaah Islaamic Soc
2225 Wakeling St
Philadelphia, PA 19137-1214
Phone: (215) 744-6645

I can't find much more on this.

I don't think Ashcroft is "casual" when he calls a press conference. And I think he's done a great job, under terrible circumstances, beginning with the endless liberal attacks on him prior to 9/11.

Philly, eh? I wonder if Philly's branch of ANSWER has any dealings with this mosque or individually with those arrested? I wonder if Michael Berg has any dealings with them? How about Dylan Wrynn? Others from that particular clique?

According to the Koran, the world has two divisions, Moslem control or War.

The free world should search every mosque for weapons and blueprints for terrorism After that, they should be bulldozed into the ground.

Will we ever learn?

Blessings, Bobo

Actually, Philly is a hotbed of newly recruited muslems, spawned by the Greaterford Maximum Security Prison, north of Philly by a half hour's drive. In the past, the incarcerated brothers of Islam, murderer's, rapists, drug dealers, car-jackers, and armed robbers would discover Islam while inside the pokey and just revert to their old godless ways once they were out, killing, robbing, and raping all over again.

What terrorists have very cleverly done is exploit the conversion inside the prison, follow and nurture it once it's released, and have the makings of urban armies inside the major cities, courtesy of Islam teachings inside the jail.

It's only the next logical step.

My dad used to work at that prison. What I'm telling you is the real deal.

Philadelphia, the 538th! most holy city in Islam. From what I understand the BoWash corridor law enforcement agencies have been stepping up preparations, both for raids on safehouses and whatever and protecting Muslim neighborhoods. It's that second part that scares me more. They suspect such a strike that vigilante justice is to be expected....

Yes, I've heard similar stories, a great "unexpected consequence of the War on Drugs" was what I was told.

A google search on that address comes up with an auto repair shop.

Galaxy Auto Center, 2225 Wakeling, Philadelphia

Wonder what that is about.

Greatersford is not just your WOD refuse pile. These are some serious psychopaths. Oddly enough, the system should be a real present to the DOJ if it is what's going on. Just follow the inmates on release, monitor their contacts and movement, tap the phones and buildings of their mentors, and presto.....easy pickins.

As long as you can get the judges in philly to keep quiet on the warrants they sign, which is about as likely as Paris Hilton becoming the next Mother Theresa.

Here's a snip from a story at Philly.com

He was brought as a guest imam to assist with Ramadan services, a practice at the Al Aqsa mosque for many years, according to Samir Salah, a community activist and member of the Philadelphia Arab American Assocation.

Quickly, however, the mosque leaders and Gohorab had a falling out over his views, according to Arab community leaders. After a short time, the mosque "severed ties" with Gohorab, said to Shukri Khorchid, a mosque director.

"He's been very outspoken," said Samir Salah, a community leader. "He was too much for the Al Aqsa, politically, and very conservative in religious views. You could call him radical."

Salah added, "People who go to that mosque say that he is anti-Western. And he was anti the war in Iraq."

This was bound to happen sooner or later - how can we tell the good guys from the bad?

Well, the ones that attend MOSQUES is a good starting point for the sorting...

It's just like in the Military's "Don't ask...Don't tell". Allow me to explain....

If you suspect a recruit is gay....you say "Clang-Clang-Clang!". If they finish with "...went the trolley", you found one!

With these Islamazis it's "Allahu....". If the finish with "Akhbar!", cuff 'em and DEPORT!
