Today on "Fox News Live," former FBI Special Agent Harold Copus said that the summer of 2004 will be remembered as the "Summer of Terror."
Anchor Gregg Jarrett told agent Copus that Tom Ridge said special attention will be focused on stopping terror attacks on rail, air, hazmat shipment, chemical facilities and the electrical grid. He asked if all of those were vulnerable.
Copas said, "They certainly are."
"For the last six months or so ... we keep hearing chatter and information that's filtering down ... you should really be concerned about some of the things you've discussed."
Jarrett also mentioned that outgoing Spanish President Aznar told President Bush to beware of possible pre-election bombings in the U.S., and Condi Rice seconded that concern yesterday. He asked, "Will that happen?"
Agent Copus said: "Let's hope not. But I suspect that we will see activity." He added, "We've continually underestimated them, now it's time for us to go on the offensive, and let's go look for these guys."
Jarrett said: "I'm still stunned by what you said ... Summer of Terror. Can we stop it?"
Agent Copus replied: "I'm not sure that we can always stop it. We're wide open as a country, we still continue to need to be that way, and want to be and should be. Because of that, we allow ourselves to be open to an attack."
He also thinks another opportunity for an al-Qaida attack will be this summer's Olympiad, in Greece.
a "nuclear device" could be a pipe bomb with some medical waste in it. take it easy.
How do you conjugate Copus?
I would think that the Dems would try to take advantage of such an attack or attacks by claiming the President is weak on terrorists.
Don't know if that ploy would get much traction however.
"Aseries of successful domenstic attacks would probably put the Republicans out of power totally."
The Democrats and their leftist bretheren are neither equipped or have the stomac to fight terrorism or Islamofascism. They would roll over and convert to Islam before they fought back. The old days of strong-willed Democrats are gone with FDR, Truman and JFK. The rest are just pu$$ies.
Note the reference to terrorist attack on "chemical facilities" and its similarity to my response to Shermy on the other thread.
This thread got me thinking about what would happen if there was a terrorist attack on the Dim Convention this summer and not one during the Republican Convention. The Media and the DU people would be crying that Bush let it happen and the such and the truth be damned. It could be a chaotic situation.
If that's true, AQ can't be all that bright. For the most part, schools and playgrounds are empty during the summer.
All the best, and let us all soldier on together, my friend.....
Yeah and George spent his summer in traction and physical rehab.
If a person wanted to really fan the flames, he could make a vague reference to every cloud having a silver lining. So I would disavow ever saying or agreeing with such a statement, dontcha know....
Apparently we have not the balls to put Al Kaida on notice that an attack on our city equals the obliteration of Mecca and all else that is "holy" to them.
Now those are words to proclaim on bumper stickers, banners, picket signs, and T-shirts. LOL!!
Moi!!??
That was the phrase to cue the sleepers on the show 24.
No my apologies, should have realized it was meant to be a "facetious" statement. Have a great day!
Our playgrounds are safe, unless they use them as staging areas because they represent familiar points of origin for their attacks....
~~Abu Ghraib WAS like Gay Days at Disney, what with the leashes and piles of naked dudes and so forth.~~
My bad. Note taken. But, at Abu Ghraib, did they have choclolate covered bananas with peanuts. Oh, never mind.
Is that some kind of euphemism?
