FBI Agent: 2004 Will Be Remembered as 'Summer of Terror'
newsmax ^

Posted on 05/26/2004 9:37:30 AM PDT by Reader of news

Today on "Fox News Live," former FBI Special Agent Harold Copus said that the summer of 2004 will be remembered as the "Summer of Terror."

Anchor Gregg Jarrett told agent Copus that Tom Ridge said special attention will be focused on stopping terror attacks on rail, air, hazmat shipment, chemical facilities and the electrical grid. He asked if all of those were vulnerable.

Copas said, "They certainly are."

"For the last six months or so ... we keep hearing chatter and information that's filtering down ... you should really be concerned about some of the things you've discussed."

Jarrett also mentioned that outgoing Spanish President Aznar told President Bush to beware of possible pre-election bombings in the U.S., and Condi Rice seconded that concern yesterday. He asked, "Will that happen?"

Agent Copus said: "Let's hope not. But I suspect that we will see activity." He added, "We've continually underestimated them, now it's time for us to go on the offensive, and let's go look for these guys."

Jarrett said: "I'm still stunned by what you said ... Summer of Terror. Can we stop it?"

Agent Copus replied: "I'm not sure that we can always stop it. We're wide open as a country, we still continue to need to be that way, and want to be and should be. Because of that, we allow ourselves to be open to an attack."

He also thinks another opportunity for an al-Qaida attack will be this summer's Olympiad, in Greece.

Coast2Coast radio last night had two guests on that were warning about backpack nukes (not just "dirty bombs") and chemical and bio-weapons going off all over America.

I listened for a while then turned off the radio. New York and D.C. will be prime targets again. Also suspect BIG problems in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Some have suggested demonstrating the non-existence of or lack of power and/or regard of their deity by easily taking out with extreme prejudice certain focal key targets in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere as needed.

It worked in Japan and ended WWII, and we might well deide to follow up with an "encore" against the first entity to attempt to retaliate or even raise their voices in protest and complaint-- be they Arab, European, or otherwise.

On the home front, our domestic traitors should be dealt with in the courts, in the marketplace, in the mass media, and in the streets (however you define the latter is entirely up to you). It's them or us, plain and simple -- and they started this war on many occasions and in many venues and fronts heretofore with impunity.

Will we again figuratively sit in our seats with our tray tables up and our seat belts buckled and yet again allow vastly outnumbered subhuman vermin to figuratively crash airliners into our society while armed merely with what amounts to boxcutters?

Sadly, history suggests that most of the sheeple that populate this great Nation will do just that and opt to leave the fighting to those capable and committed to defend it against all enemies -- both foreign and domestic.....

Perhaps it is time to raise a new battle cry by paraphrasing a classic line from a classic Clint Eastwood western: "CCW permits? We doan' need no steenkeeng permits!!"

I took a tour hour nap when I got home from work, and then I listened to the whole show. They said that one nuke device was intercepted in Chicago.

Toward the end they were saying this was all part of the End Times.

1:20 Rumsfeld, Rice, Tenant, Wolfowitz should quit: Gore
1:19 Gore calls for 6 Bush aides to resign for Iraq failures

The rats had to do something to slow down the market recovery the past week or so.

I wish that we had full disclosure when anyone makes these statements about "Impending acts of Terror", with the #1 disclosure: "What political party does the person predicting terrorism belong to?"

Sounds like a great excuse for Park Police to order up more SWAT teams, doesn't it?

Police-state rationalizations.

"The best defense if a great offense", so don't think he is wrong. We never thought 9/11 was possible either, so get your head out of the sand.

"Since any terrorist attack right now would guarantee Bush's reelection, I seriously doubt we will see much of anything domestically"

I hope you are right. But you are assuming that Islamic terrorists are rational beings. I think that they are perfectly clever, but completely not rational.

Abu Graeb (sp) will seem like Gay Days at Disney.

Abu Ghraib WAS like Gay Days at Disney, what with the leashes and piles of naked dudes and so forth.

I agree. We were in WallyMart yesterday in Springfield, MO and there was a huge black woman wearing a gray knee length coat. I doubt she was a terrorist (but who knows)It was raining. I think she was just thinking the coat would hide her blubber. She was wrong. She just looked like a hippo out of water.
