The story: my Marines, on their own time, went to a shooting range in Savannah, Jawjuh with personal weapons and ammo. They had a bunch of leftover rounds as they rode back to MCAS Beaufort.
Some jackass fired at a deer across the highway, directly over the truck. My Marines stopped, jumped out, and began laying down suppression fire on the tree line. The cops found over 300 spent cartridges on the road.
After the base CO chewed me out, he chewed my Marines out for a while, then told me to jump in.
My comment: "Let me get this straight...we have Marines firing over 300 rounds at the bad guy, and not one of you morons could actually hit the worthless bastard?"
I thought the CO was going to explode, but then he realized that I had a valid point (c8

So true. It's everyone else's fault but her own. She was in charge there. She should take the heat.

PC will be the death of us all if not reversed. One cannot fight and win a war using false strategic premises.
When I was in the Army, as a Quartermaster lieutenant, I always saluted superior officers, even though my assignment was stateside. Saluting and maintaining a proper uniform are at the core of military discipline and morale. If this nitwit would not even enforce such basic military courtesy and discipline, it's easy to see how much more improtant parts of her mission were neglected.
The most apalling thing is she seemed to be ignoring reports of escapes, some of them by very dangerous inmates. That, without any "abuse" issues, showed she wasn't doing her job and deserved to be removed.
