I expect the Democrats to act like the unpatriotic Socialsit / Communists that they actually are; I expect and elect Republicans to be the opposite, to actually care about the security of our country and to do what's necessary to secure us; I feel dissalusioned and betrayed.

The Republicans in Congress at the time had every opportunity to press the issue and, say impeach Clinton for Treason, as in 'Chinagate,' instead of just for lying under oath about Monica, which the country club of the Senate couldn't find the spine or will to do. The Republicans, who are in control of Congress, could also have had an effective 9-11 Commission instead of the bi-partisan farce it is, with Gorelic on the commission, and also ignoring things like 'Able Danger' wich also goes to the corruption and treason of the Clinton Administration. But instead, they seem to be one big club, excusing each other, and sweeping things under the rug.

Two possible reasons why: Both parties are beholden to the same transnational corporations that are also selling out their country, that pay for their campaigns, and put their own power and politics over the wellfare and national security of our country; and/or Clinton has alot of dirt on everybody else, or everyone has alot of dirt over each other. In any event, it still boils down to (in many issues then and today) political power and political correctness over the welfare and national security of America.

You make many excellent points, but in regards to our elected conservatives not pursuing Chinagate, I think I know one very good reason why.

... once the opposition was disemboweled by the knowledge that their raw FBI files had been in the possession of the clintons

Here, MiaT is the key to the whole matter.

We neglect to remember that that selfsame opposition is still there in office, carefully sheperded by the minions of none other than Senator Hillary, herself, and that they are members of the Republican Party.

We can only regard with suspicion even members of our own party who were in office then, and must continue to scrutinize them and their records for inconsistencies which indicate that they have been compromised.

FInding such, any action short of removing them from office and replacing them with a conservative not in thrall to the Clintons is to aid and abet the crimes after the fact. When we clean house, I fear a number of Republicans must be swept out as well.

This is why I cannot back the likes of John McCain or Rudy Guiliani for POTUS, their records do not indicate steadfast conservative values.

In the end, we do not need a Clinton puppet in the Oval Office either, regardless of party affiliation.

"Infuriating, isn't it? And when that report comes out, none of this will be mentioned."

What is even more infuriating is how the president and his father call and treat Bill Clinton as a member of their family.

Now, that is infuriating, and puzzling.

I believe I've I found one of the key reasons as to "why" -the Republicans in Congress at the time didn't "press the issue" and didn't "impeach Clinton for Treason."

Connecting some dots:

"Elaine Chao, the wife of Kentucky Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell and the woman selected by President-elect George W. Bush to replace Labor Secretary designee Linda Chavez, had several contacts during the 1990's with key Chinagate figure John Huang."

Chao, Chavez's Replacement, Implicated in Chinagate

Hannity states: "...doesn't know why there is no interest in discussing Chinagate

"I got the feeling that Hannity didn't want to really discuss Chinagate."

What about Condoleeza Rice? Where does she factor in. I know the story about her and Stanford and the killing of the work, but when names pop up...

Sometimes I get my tinfoil hat on good and tight and wonder how many double agents are in our government.

Never mind Publius, I read it, : (

"During the impeachment fiasco when David Schippers asked Senate Republicans for permission to probe President Clinton’s passing of defense secrets to China in return for campaign contributions, he was ordered to leave it alone..."
